That's the best way they could have gone about it, imo.
Hopefully some guns and crossbows get added as well. Plain bows are great but we have a lot of options for bows that don't look overdesigned. All the plain-looking guns and crossbows have approximately 7 polygons and are 15+ years old.

Awesome! Sometimes simpler is better with transmog, but the old low-quality models from the early years of the game were sometimes too rough to look good.
if only the wandering isle grey weapons became green ones, they actually look better
Can Horde characters use the weapons obtained on the Alliance side and visa-versa?
Really wish they'd add some of the whites from old levelling zone (e.g. gilneas, the turtle etc) as some of them are lovely but useless to players for transmog.
