meaning that mythic raid wont have higher ilvl for its 2 last boss either ? interesting, changes to the gear from raiding might make people mad though. Normaly they had more pieces than pvp to get higher ilvl this season
They wouldn't dare make raid have higher ilvl max gear than pvp would they ? if they did then it would be time to get everyone on the forum to destroy the community over it.

I like it boosting needs to go asap if we want a healthy pvp scene and still need more frequent tuning to bring outlires closer to the rest
the 6th level of upgrade is just walking into PvP.
This is a good change, PvP gear already outclasses PvE gear on PvP in 9.1 with the scaling to ilvl, if they kept the Elite upgrade for weapons they will be iLvl 266 on PvP content (when the cap for raid will be 259)
Would be great if it was true. Too early to tell but it does seem they finally get that pvp is what it is, optional.

The pvp exclusive community cried out for changes when the overall system was good in 9.0, it didn't need a pvp stat, it didn't need to be higher ilvl, it was fine an encouraged everyone to pvp because the gear is good early tier but not the stats every spec wants later on, but for pvp, you need the versatility so once you get into competitive rating, you wear all pvp gear anyway, the changes the pvp community has plagued upon the game will make it so that now only pvpers will pvp, again putting it on an island, where as 9.0 we had the most active arena season ever, overall this change is super bad and they shouldn't listen to pvpers as much as they did, because they're killing the participation in 9.1 with the wod scaling system.
Just remove pvp at this point, it's clear they don't want pvpers doing anything but that. They're not gonna fix any bugs or and of the glaring issues any of the pvp systems have, just remove it already. Sheesh.
They could just bring pvp power back, and replace all vers with pvp power, so pve player don't have to play pvp for their gear and pvp player will have all pvp gear as bis. Lowering ilv won't solve problem in long run.
Whichever devs completely lacked the foresight to see that players were going to get 1800/2100/2400 in one bracket and then sit on that rating for the rest of the season, should be quietly removed from WoW. Weekly win in the area you had the rating should have been such an obvious thing to include. Directly enabled boosting by not including it. Sure there will be boosting with this system regardless (cause deterministic gearing vs rng of pve), but it would at least siphon out more gold from boosted players overall. And thus making them possibly reconsider boosting at all, or at least drive them to max out the credit card which would be hilarious for anyone to do for a game.
This doesnt fix the issue with PvP at all. The PvP system is very fragile and always being tweaked to be relatively fair. By adding in tiers and gating players behind rating they made it nearly impossible to create class balance in PvP. PvP has never been 100% balanced in the history of WoW and thats with having 2 sets of fixed gear, Honor and Conquest (Arena). Now there being back the failed WoD pvp system that was constantly abused in world pvp (getting a 15% power boost for using purge or dispel on any1 because as soon as you engage in any pvp your ilvl goes up 13 ilvls) this fixes nothing and just brings back the "pvp gear is bad for pve" with the exemption of world pve/pvp. IF this was there goal they it would have been much better to do the opposite and lower your pvp gears ilvl while inside raids/dungeons. All this does is drive a wedge between PvP and PvE and fixes nothing at all. Now you will see PvE players crying about world content and constantly being attacked or put in combat by players just for the increased ilvl. This whole xpack has been trash for pvp, the worst pvp season in this games history imo, and when they resort to failed systems to try to fix it just shows you how little the devs know about the player base.
Easy fix here is to remove rating tiers and go back to Honor and Arena gear and set the ilvl of the rated gear to be equal to heroic raid gear. If they want to keep pvp out of pve then they need to be doing the opposite of WoD system and lower ilvl while in raid or dungeons otherwise War Mode imbalance will just get worse (everyone who PvPs will have War Mode on because they wouldnt have any incentive not to, and PvE players who have it on will be subject to constant attacks or abusing for the pvp ilvl increase). The 40% boost from trinkets will or should be enough to out value mythic pve gear in ranked pvp and pvp will always be less optimal for pve. Easy win.
You can tell the people commenting are casuals. Ignore their useless feedback. This is a great change because Elite weapons were stronger than mythic drops with the exception of the last two bosses. Raiders will no longer need to hit Elite in order to PVE.
