Balance Druid Strengths and Weaknesses in Torghast
As a Balance Druid one of your main strengths in Torghast is your relative tankiness and ability to inflict CC to help yourself out in a pinch. I find it very useful to kite out mobs a large portion of the time and utilize abilities such as Typhoon
and Ursol's Vortex
. On top of this, we have our henchmen Force of Nature
to tank some mobs for us, which is really good whenever we are running solo. I do think generally once you get a build going as Boomy the runs become easier as moonkin's powers are pretty potent.
I think our biggest weakness comes from the reliance on cooldowns in Torghast. With Celestial Alignment
being a 3 minute cooldown our damage is largely reliant on this singular cooldown. This is problematic especially in the early game as we are slowly ramping up on powers. You just need to take the early floors especially slow as Balance. Another absolutely enormous weakness comes from Solar Beam
being a 1 minute cooldown as there are a large amount of kicks present in Torghast.
Solo Balance Druid in Torghast
Playing slow is the key to success in Torghast. Like I stated in the weakness section, Boomy in torghast is probably one of the more difficult specs to play and I would say it is the 4th best druid spec. Balance can be decent if you have the Night Fae covenant's Convoke the Spirits
as this allows you to skirt by all end floor bosses and even the end wing bosses with minimal powers.
Taking packs slow and having Celestial Alignment
up for all the elite bosses is the biggest tip I can really give for players. On top of that you need to select powers based on being able to kill final bosses. We'll talk about some of the better builds later in this article, but you really should be focusing on killing the final boss.
There is one unique thing we can do to bosses that helps us greatly if we have a boss that feels largely unkillable and that is Cyclone
. So with Cyclone you can cancel the bosses Unnatural Power
buff. Unnatural Power stacks every 13 seconds, leaving you 7 seconds. Cyclone of course does not let buffs applied through it, but you have to clone 2x. Meaning that you have to clone once after 9 seconds and once again on DR meaning that you have to start casting your clone ~1.4s left on the previous one in order to secure the second clone. This will reset the unnatural power stacks.
