you can use these keys to open Bountiful Coffers in Bountiful Delves (these delves are empowered for a limited time). Farming these delves is the best way to gear up before the M+ release (and maybe even later on).

You can complete the delves solo or in a group. You can obtain these keys from world quests, which reward supply chests (Adventurer's Caches) and possibly other sources.

You must have a Restored Coffer Key with you when you complete a Bountiful Delve in order to open Bountiful Coffer. You can not pick up the coffer and open it later like a lockbox.

I entered & completed a Bountiful Delve in hopes that the box at the end was an item I could later open. I hope this comment can save someone else from repeating my mistake.

EDIT: Since this post has a lot of attention and there are a lot of questions around Bountiful Delves. I wanted to add some more info to this post that answers some of those questions.

How to Obtain Restored Coffer Key:

Collect and combine 100x Coffer Key Shard to create a Restored Coffer Key.
Coffer Key Shard come from World Quests, Radiant Echoes, and outdoor events throughout Khaz Algar.
At level 5 with Delver's Journey, you will be able to buy Restored Coffer Keys from Sir Finley Mrrgglton in Dornogal for 2000 Undercoin

NOTE:
Restored Coffer Key is a currency and will not appear in your bag, but can be found in your currency tab.
Coffer Key Shard is an item that will be in your bags and stacks up to 500.

Additional info: Once you complete a bountiful delve it returns to being a normal delve. So if you forgot your key, the chance for that chest is gone.

During Early Access delves are limited to Tier 3, but by saving your Restored Coffer Key until Season 1 starts on Sept 10, you’ll get much better gear based on the delve tier:

- Tier 4 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 577 – 4/8 Adventurer
- Tier 5 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 584 – 5/8 Veteran
- Tier 6 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 590 – 6/8 Veteran
- Tier 7 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 597 – 7/8 Champion
- Tier 8+ Bountiful Delve: Item Level 603 – 8/8 Champion

The key itself is a curency, it won't show up in your inventory.

When planning to run and loot a Bountiful Delve make sure and be aware that you need the key before you start the run (or have enough shards to create one during the run).

There are several ways to earn these, for example:

Collect and combine 100x Coffer Key Shard (these show in your inventory, they are not a currency) to create a Restored Coffer Key. Coffer Key Shards come from World Quests, Radiant Echoes, and outdoor events throughout Khaz Algar.

Your first 4 significant World Events will grant Restored Coffer Key.

Certain Renown thresholds grant you a Restored Coffer Key.

Restored Coffer Key can be bought from Sir Finley Mrrgglton once Season 1 starts for 2,000 Undercoin by progressing through the Delve track. The cost is reduced by 50% by progressing further in the Delve track.

Depending on how competitive you are you might want to hold on to your keys until Season 1 started. Higher tier Delves will give higher item level rewards:

- Tier 4 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 577
- Tier 5 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 584
- Tier 6 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 590
- Tier 7 Bountiful Delve: Item Level 597
- Tier 8+ Bountiful Delve: Item Level 603

why are these character specific instead of put into a warband-shared pool to take from? the special assignments are only completable once per warband when they're up, so this makes 0 sense to only be able to use them on the characters you do the mission on

Does anyone have a macro saying how many keys you have gathered this reset? I know it's 4 per week but i can't remember how many I have gotten on each character this reset.

The Murlock vendor Sir Finley Mrrgglton sells 3 Restored Coffer Key for 2000 Undercoin each, however you need to be rank 7 in Delver's Journey to be able to buy em. At max rank 10 in the Journey you get them for 1000 Undercoin. You can buy 3 keys every week per account. Undercoin are transferable but Restored Coffer Key are not or the currency itself Restored Coffer Key are not either.

Your Delver's Journey and your Brann are account bound. So it can become a lot more useful on alts.

Best macro I can come up with to track your weekly keys

Made a simple WeakAura that tracks how many of the Weekly Restored Coffer keys you have recieved. These are the ones that come from your first 4 Adventurer Chests per week.

So if you buy a key from Sir Finley and ask for a refund, it locks that key for the week as if you used the item, I found this out to my misfortune, I bought a key and opted to buy the Dirigible parts instead thinking that my alt could buy the 3 keys since she had none, well the key i clicked and refunded on my alt and it was showing as locked, so buyers beware, it is an obvious bug.

If anyone is wondering if you should use these as soon as you get them, then yes, but highly recommended only on Bountiful Delve tier 8+ for the best loot since item level from the bountiful chest rewarded gear doesn't increase after tier 8.

3. Level up a character.
4. Go through a Bountiful Delve only to realize I can't open the chest and I have to do the thing I despise the most - World Quests 😐

You may say: "Oh, you can enjoy Delves without opening the Bountiful Chest". Well, it's like a negative dopamine kick not being able to open up the reward. So I wouldn't say it's that simple.

Edit: this is an old comment on a deprecated item, but people still seem to find it. It looks like Blizzard has nerfed coffer keys to only come from Pinnacle caches now. All other sources seem to drop shards.

Low-hanging fruit to get four easy coffer keys per week:

1) Theater Troupe - Isle of Dorn (56.4 51.4)
2) Awakening the Machine - Ringing Deeps (47.4 31.9)
3) Spreading the Light - Hallowfall (64 29.9)
4) Weekly quests from Smaks Topskimmer that reward Nanny's Surge Dividends - Undermine (43.6 50.8)
5) Special assignment World Quests (rotating zones), unlocked after doing world quests in that zone.
Bonus: piecing together 100x Coffer Key Shard from world quests and worldsoul memories.

The macro found here is also awesome to show how many keys you've unlocked for the week.

You can receive a maximum of 4 keys every week from the Pinnacle Cache, a reward from Worldsoul or Delve meta quests.

You get four full coffer keys from doing four 11.2 weekly.activities: the special assignment, phase diving activities, ecological succession, and whatever the Pinnacle cache for the week is. You can get two more by doing four of the pre-11.2 activities that give epic caches (there's one per zone plus any Special Assignments that are up).

Then some of the world quests offer partial keys and you can use the Radiant Echoes from Bountiful delves to go get more - Ive been getting about 30 shards per Echo (or about 150 if I do a 5x Echo). Since you can run at least six bountifuls a week easily, you'll get at least six Echoes so you can run at least one or two more Id say if you tried hard. Also, the reputation paragon chests give an Echo as well so you might be able to swing eight Bountiful delves some weeks.
