A new herb has been added, exclusive to K'aresh - Phantom Bloom. Phantom Bloom can be gathered exclusively in K'aresh and can sometimes also contain a K'areshi Lotus.

Neither Phantom Bloom nor K'areshi Lotus are used in any recipes - Instead, you can exchange them with Om'mit in Tazavesh for Khaz Algar herbs:

Altered Mycobloom, Altered Luredrop, Altered Orbinid

Appears with unhealthy red and orange discoloration from their exposure to the Black Blood of the Old Gods. Picking it infects you with Horrific Poison that slows movement speed and combat ability for 1 minute. You can wait it out, or you can harvest a Crystalline herb or ore node (if you have Mining) for Crystalline Empowerment, which makes you immune to Horrific Poison.

Altered herbs can be quite difficult to find, often deep underground in some of the worst places in Khaz Algar. These are mostly found in the higher-level zones such as Hallowfall and Azh-Kahet.

Overload Altered Herb - The creature is an overgrown plant mob called a Twisted Lasher. Overloading an Altered herb replaces the node, so be sure to pick Altered Herbs before you Overload what's left of the node.

You collect a far greater number of Writhing Samples when overloading Altered herbs or Weeping mining nodes. It's a high-level reagent used in Enchanting, Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Skinning. Herbalists can specialize in Altered herbs under the Overloading the Underground tree, reducing the dangerous side effects, harvesting more Writhing Sample, and increasing their Finesse and Perception when looting them.

Farming nonstop 24/7 will be pointless as you will face a non-published gate/timegate. Just like in DF at the start you could farm silly all day long and get nothing for days as far as KP.

They only opned up the "tap" to points throughout the expansion. They will be some sort of gate implemented at the start whether blizzard says it or not is a different matter. But there wil be a gate as blizzard loves to timegate stuff. This will be no different.

Llyot sells Herbal Embalming Techniques for 565 Kej - it gives 10 herbalism knowledge points.

You can also buy 3x15 knowledge from Lyrendal for 200, 300 and 400 Artisan's Acuity (you get some back when you use the item).
There is no requirements to do this.

Overloading the sporefused node creates 1 copy of the node plant, and copies of other types of plants. The one that matches the original node seems to be the "correct" one. (Picking the others does some damage and disorients the herbalist)

Treatises are still BoP. You can't purchase them from AH but you can put in a crafting order for them.

The description for Overloading Sporefused nodes is just not true. It's a game of odd-one-out. You pick the herb that is different from the others. How many times do you have to change the description until you figure that out? Even another incorrect comment is getting upvoted. Come on guys.

Correction: Treatises such as Algari Treatise on Herbalism cannot be sold on the Auction House. They are bind on pickup, requiring you to put in a work order with an inscriptionist.

As a dual gatherer I was concerned about the lack of ways to gain knowledge and Artisan's Acuity so I'd like to share what I received from the from the various treasures:

Apparently you you don't need a level 80 character to get the weekly gathering quests as the article states. I don't have any higher than 75 and am able to access them.

Catching a Goldengill trout will increase herbalism perception by 45 for 15 mins. They can be caught in any zone from Glimmerpools, Festering Rotpools, and Infused Ichor Spills.

The seeds you get aren't unique BUT I've observed that having 0 of a given type in your bags does seem to make them drop more frequently. Even with a full Cultivation 40/40 points they aren't very common but I think the drop rate is lower if you have seeds on you. Or maybe it's just an rng thing - I tested it a bit on the farm and after using all my Irridiated I dropped two in a row from next harvests, same was true for other kinds of seeds.

Just to be sure, there doesn't exist Altered objects for Blessing Blossom and Arathor's Spear, right? Currently trying to get a Luredrop for the KP, a lot of KP farmed but if we could squeeze in every KP left, would be a bit faster to finish farming Herbalism ones here.

If you max out the Sporefused tree of Overloading the Underground Overloading the Underground, it gives you Enhanced Vision anytime you pick a Sporefused herb. This is a buff that lasts 5 minutes and grants the ability to see Camouflaged herbs.
