Torn Green Tea Leaf: Combine 10 for Green Tea Leaf.

Rain Poppy Petal: Combine 10 for Rain Poppy.

Silkweed Stem: Combine 10 for Silkweed.

Snow Lily Petal: Combine 10 for Snow Lily.

Fool's Cap Spores: Combine 10 for Fool's Cap.

Desecrated Herb Pod: Combine 10 for Desecrated Herb.

Herbalism

Herbalists get a new rank of : Uses your skill in Herbalism to absorb energy and nutrients from the earth, instantly healing minor wounds and granting 2880 haste for 20 sec. Can be used while stealthed or invisible.

Herbalist's Spade is sold by Trade Supply vendors. It increases your herbalism by +10 and does not need to be equipped.

Fool's Cap: high-level areas with water nearby: Windward Isle, Briny Muck in Dread Wastes, etc. Requires 600 skill.

Golden Lotus: requires 550 skill, any zone, rare spawn node. Picking one gives you Luck of the Lotus.

Green Tea Leaf: grassy areas in all zones, most common herb. 500 skill to gather.

Rain Poppy: by inland water. 525 skill to gather.

Sha-Touched Herb: similar to Frozen Herb in Northrend. Found in corrupted areas like Stoneplow Fields in Valley of the Four Winds. Requires 575 skill.

Silkweed: by water in low-level zones. Requires 545 skill.

Snow Lily: snowy mountains in Kun-Lai Summit. 575 skill

Miners get a new rank of : All your hard work spent mining has made you exceptionally tough, increasing your Stamina by 480.

Reinforced Mining Pick is sold by Trade Supply vendors. It increases your mining by +10 and does not need to be equipped.

Ghost Iron Ore: Used in Ghost Iron Bar. Ghost Iron Deposit requires 515 Mining and Rich Ghost Iron Deposit requires 550 Mining.

Black Trillium Ore and White Trillium Ore: Used in Smelt Trillium (two of each). Trillium Deposits are rare nodes in level 90 zones.

Kyparite Deposit and Rich Kyparite Deposit are used to make Kyparite which is needed for many engineering recipes. Spawns at the bottom of Kyparite trees in Dread Wastes and Townlong.

Skinning Knife is no longer a plain weapon--it gives +10 skill.

Plump Intestines: The Strange Bloated Stomach of MoP--chance to loot upon skinning a normal mob. Currently they contain gold and some junk items.

Magnificent Hide: the rare leather for MoP. Very low drop rate. Takes 50 Mist-Touched Leather to make, or can be crafted daily with Magnificence of Leather or Magnificence of Scales.

Prismatic Scale: From reptiles and turtles.

Mist-Touched Leather: Staple Skinning item from most mobs. Combine 5 Sha-Touched Leather.

Sha-Touched Leather: From low-level Pandaria mobs. Combine 5 into Mist-Touched Leather.

One question:

But I noticed the tool tip states +15 Mining. Is that a typo in the guide, or in the tool tip?

Thank you, this has been very useful. Now my Warlock knows how to gain even more ! The updates have also made it less painful for her to transition into dual gathering at a later level.

Hope they fix the time some of the motes respawn as you just opened it to ever level 85.
Im not a fan of this fix. I think blizzard should make people fly around the world to work on Profession. Or spend the gold on AH to buy the stuff people farm and sell. Its like skipping ever expiation before panda.

I guess the next thing is going to be giving way max level toons to new players to get them up to date with everone. They will have a area like monks have to start per class. As different task are done you get like 5 level. These task will explain how to use your new abilitys. Boom your level 90 have some gear and get out there and have fun blizzard loves you thanks for buying the game and playing to play :)

weird, this post says that we need skill level 500 to gather Green Tea Leaf but I was able to gather it with 285 skill level, I also was able to gather Rain Poppy; I bet that the others work too.

I believe the Ancient Pandaren Mining Pick is definitely worth mentioning as it is the only way to collect Pandaria gems. I wish I'd known about it before I hit level 90 (although it is much easier to find with a flying mount...)

This is really cool for people switching professions or who want to make gold... but for people trying to level other professions like Inscription or Alch with Herbalism you still need to go back to the old zones to farm old herbs to level the other profession. Same with JC and Engi and Mining. BS has a "get to 600 with only ghost iron" but it costs like 300 bars per 10 points so it's really not very efficient. Skinning still has to be done the old way, so LW is not negativly effected by this change. Neither are tailoring and Enchanting.

So, since when can you mine without needing a mining pick in your bags? I just realized I've been mining on my new alt and haven't had a mining pick in my bags. I remember you used to have to have one. Just wondering when this changed. I don't see it mentioned anywhere.

Since WoD-related patches gathering profession bonuses are obsolete.

For those who want to farm more ore or herbs, I think a good addition to the guide might be the Mist-Piercing Goggles, which can be bought in the AH for ~250g.
