Getting Started with Mining in MidnightMining

There are only two qualities of materials: and and Refining has been removed from specializations.

The Mining trainer in Silvermoon is Belil /way #2393 42.6 52.8 Belil

There are two Phials that aid with Mining, depending on what trait you want to improve. These include Haranir Phial of Finesse (Finesse and Deftness) and Haranir Phial of Perception (Perception and Deftness).

The Overload Infused Deposit spell you learn for interacting with themed nodes is now part of a dropdown containing all Overload mechanics from the past three expansions (Overload Elemental for Dragonflight, Overload Empowered from TWW, and Overload Infused from Midnight). You can choose to drag only the Infused versions onto your bar if that's more convenient.

There is a new currency you can earn through gathering called Artisan Miner's Moxie. Use it to buy +10 Knowledge Point items or Master Miner's Surplus Reagents from Zelan in Silvermoon, /way #2393 42.6 52.8

40 Knowledge Points in the Meticulous Mining specialization earns the ability to mine Midnight ore deposits when mounted. This is an improvement from the 60 points required in TWW.

Source of Mote of Light

When you gather a Lightfused node, you can gather extra Motes of Light by watching for yellow lighted circles that will appear on the ground. Run into them to catch falling motes. On a normal gather, there will usually only be 2 lightfalls. Catching a Mote will do a small amount of damage, so pay attention to your health.

Overloading the node increases the number of lightfalls. Using a foot speed buff helps catch more of them.

Specializing in Lightfused in the Over-LODED profession tree increases the number of motes you can catch in both normal and Overloaded states.

Tip: Before you Overload a Lightfused node, pick one that's in a flat, open spot and clear the immediate area of hostile mobs. Otherwise, you'll lose a lot of Mote drops to cliffsides, hills, and unexpected aggro.

Voidbound

Source of Mote of Pure Void

Gathering this node sends a wide circle of void energy around the deposit, drastically slowing movement speed. Run out of the void circle as soon as you can. If you don't escape, it will throw you to the opposite side of the void ring, which can be dangerous if there are hostile mobs or a long drop nearby.

Overloading this node opens a Reality Tear. Going through this teleports you to a random spot -- even to another zone! Unlike previous nodes of this type, it doesn't guarantee teleporting to another node. Use only for escape until you've unlocked the Voidbound subspecialization under Over-LODED.

Unlocking the Voidbound sub-specialization gives you a short-duration return portal to where you started. Completing it yields more Motes of Pure Void when harvesting Voidbound nodes.

Wild

Source of Mote of Wild Magic

Mining a Wild node will summon two Rumbling Oreling mobs that will attack you. These scale to your level. When they are dead, you can mine the corpses for extra ore.

Overloading a Wild node summons Avatar of Nalorakk, an Elite bear. Defeating it to 1hp of health grants Wild Perception, a 15% Perception buff for Midnight Mining. Lasts 5 minutes.

Unlocking Wild sub-specialization increases yield from looting Rumbling Orelings. Completing it doubles the duration of Wild Perception to 10 minutes.

Primal

Source of Mote of Primal Energy

Players are rooted with a small DoT when they mine Primal nodes.

Overloading a Primal node channels a spell that decreases your health as Motes of Primal Energy fall. Unlike Lightfused mote falls, don't move while you channel or you'll break the spell. You'll be rewarded with motes when you complete the channel.

Unlocking Primal gives you more resistance to the Primal roots, decreasing how much you are slowed. Completing it increases the amount of health into the Primal deposit, giving a modest increase to the number of Primal Energy motes you collect.

Unlocking Rich Deposits gives you +5 Skill when mining Rich Midnight deposits. Completing this sub-specialization also gives a total of +35 Finesse, +30 Perception, +45 Deftness, and +50 Skill when mining Rich nodes.

Bonus for Opening Specialization: Mining a Midnight deposit refunds additional charge of Overload, and teaches Overload Infused Deposit.

Cumulative Bonuses: Further refunds more charge of Overload when mining

40-Point Bonus Gives an additional charge of Overload Infused Deposit.

Over-LODED Sub-Specializations

Options: Lightfused, Wild, Primal, and Voidbound

Bonus for Opening Sub-Specialization: Gives more motes when harvesting Lightfused, increases yields when harvesting Rumblers with Wild, grants additional resistance to rooting with Primal, and offers a return portal with Voidbound

Cumulative Bonuses: Finesse (+40), Deftness (+45) and Perception (+20), and Skill (+10) when mining that type of Infused deposit

40-Point Bonus: Increase mote yields for Lightfused and Voidbound, doubles Wild Perception duration for Wild, and allows you to channel 20% more health into Primal for extra resources.

I had Overload Infused Deposit as soon as I learned mining so I'm not really sure why the node for opening the Over-LODED tree says "teaches Overload Infused Deposit." Weird!

Hi Guys,

I have a big problem! My caracter can't see the miningnodes on the minimap. Normaly the are coloured yellow, but all my caracter seess are red circles from the mining of my alts.
Any suggestions? Thankss.
