Patch 2.4 FAQ
1. How do I get to the Isle of Quel'Danas?
The intial mode of transportation to the new zone is via flight path. For
Horde
players, the flight path is available from
Skymistress Gloaming
, located at 54.4, 50.8 in
Eversong Woods
(right outside of
Silvermoon City
). For
Alliance
players, the flight path is available from
Gryth Thurden
, located at 55.5, 47.3 in
Ironforge
. During phase two of the Shattered Sun Offensive's efforts of reclaiming Sun's Reach, players will be able to complete the daily quest
Intercepting the Mana Cells
in order to assist
Exarch Nasuun
in creating a portal from Shattrath to the Isle of Quel'Danas. After the portal has been created, that daily quest will be replaced with a new one,
Maintaining the Sunwell Portal
. The portal will be located near the center of Shattrath, where the badge vendor
G'eras
previously hovered.
2. What's all this "phase" stuff, and where's the badge vendor?!
Check out
this thread
for full information.
In short, the "badge vendor"
Smith Hauthaa
will spawn at the completion of "phase 2" but she will not sell the Badge of Justice rewards until the anvil and forge have been rebuilt, in "phase 3." When your realm has her "unlocked," she will spawn at
51,41
(behind the Sun's Reach Armory). Better get busy with those daily quests!
3. How do I get attuned for Heroic Magisters' Terrace?
There is no physical Heroic key for
Magisters' Terrace
, but rather an attunement that is cast upon the character (similar to pre-TBC attunements, or Serpentshrine Cavern). The attunement quest is very short and rather simple, requiring only a single Magister's Terrace run and no reputation requirement. In order to get attuned, you must complete the following quest chain:
Crisis at the Sunwell
(Aldor) /
Duty Calls
(Scryers)
These quests are available on their respective faction's Rises, in Shattrath. The Aldor version is available from
Adyen the Lightwarden
and the Scryers version is available from
Dathris Sunstriker
. This quest is
not
necessary, as it is simply a bread crumb quest intended to lead players into the new zone. There is no reputation reward, just
44 silver
.
Magisters' Terrace
This quest is available upon arriving at the Isle of Quel'Danas from
Exarch Larethor
at 47.4, 30.7 (inside the small building). Players must venture into Magisters' Terrace and find the fallen blood elf
Tyrith
, who is located just before the second boss. Speaking to him completes the quest, awards
15 gold 18 silver
,
250 reputation
with the Shattered Sun Offensive at level 70 and continues the chain.
The Scryer's Scryer
Tyrith will ask that you proceed further into the instance and activate a scrying orb found on the balcony in Magisters' Terrace. Doing so will award
15 gold 18 silver
,
250 reputation
and cue a short cutscene. Once it has ended,
Kalecgos
will spawn in human form nearby and offer the final quest.
Hard to Kill
(awards Heroic mode attunement to Magisters' Terrace)
The final quest asks that you slay
Kael'thas Sunstrider
, the final boss of Magisters' Terrace, and recover the
Head of Kael'thas
. Upon doing so, the quest can be turned in to
Exarch Larethor
back on the Isle. Players will be granted
attunement
to Heroic Magisters' Terrace and be rewarded
15 gold 18 silver
,
250 reputation
and choice of one epic gem:
Bright Crimson Spinel
,
Runed Crimson Spinel
or
Teardrop Crimson Spinel
.
4. Is there a teleport back to the Isle of Quel'danas from the Throne of Kil'jaeden?
Annoyingly enough, no. You'll have to fly down, hearth, teleport, or get creative. There are two new daily quests located at the Throne of Kil'jaeden, home of everyone's favorite
Doom Lord Kazzak
. These quests require you to have a flying mount, and are unlocked upon completing
The Missing Magistrix
, a simple pre-quest that asks players to use the
Captured Legion Scroll
near the portal at Dawning Square. For the record, the portal is
right there
. You don't have to clear any of the mobs around the portal or anything, you can just run in and use the item. You will be teleported to the Throne of Kil'jaeden to find
Magistrix Seyla
and complete the quest. Doing so will unlock two new daily quests,
Blood for Blood
and
Blast the Gateway
. Please note that the teleportation scroll is only available for the first quest, and you will have to fly out to Hellfire Peninsula every time you want to take these new dailies.

read the changes that were made a few mins ago. I am a lvl 65, so I know that alot of the outland changes are going to affect me, but I don't quite understand a few, other than a few rares have been nerfed and that certain mobs have an increased chance to drop rares.
I noticed alot of changes that will affect spells casters the most though. Certain talents have been changed how they affect the classes. Any of you spellcasters have any comment on what they did? I have a shammy, lvl 42 so far, and a mage, lvl 49, but rarely use them. It appears blizz finally added a totem timer for them. Other than that, I will have to read more in depth.
Oh, and the stupid snake trap bug has been fixed!! Woot!

So, how many weapon smiths are crafting their Tier 3 Weapons and getting them enchanted with Mongoose/Executioner/etc. the second the servers go up? I saved up enough badges for the vortexes and got the executioner enchanting mats a few weeks ago, just to be prepared.

I am! Although I'm saving my badges for the tanking loot, and I plan to buy the vortexes on the AH if the price is good. Although I am a little poor after I bought an epic flyer for my alt last week...
I'd imagine they'd be about 250g the first week and then level out to about 150-200g as 10 badge nethers cost about 100g and vortexes are only 15.
Heh, I'm going to cheat and use the badges from my mage to buy my vortexes. My warrior has 150 so he's pretty close to the chest piece and the ring. I'm at 491 defense atm so I'll probably get the chest piece first so I can afford the defense loss from my old badge ring.
I'm also dreading farming heroic MT over and over and over again for the new trinket. But, at least, I'll be getting badges as I farm, farm, farm (and maybe a white chocobo mount! :D)
Another thing I'm looking forward to is finally having an Elekk on both my gnome toons, yay.

I chose the wrong profession...
