My Druid:
Moonkin
Feral
I'm planning on getting one of the trinkets from 5man ICC for my boomkin, and possibly get boots and bracers crafted.
For feral, i'm hoping to get my paws on some new boots from 5man ICC, a decent tanking ring, and probably the T9 chest piece, if i dont get the one from ICC. There's also the issue of my cloak.. i have a pvp hit rating cloak in my banks somewhere, and i'm wondering if that would be an upgrade due to the higher stam.
I'm planning to start raiding again now that my school semester is coming to an end. I have yet to set foot in ICC, and as such i dont know how well I would do in there with my current gear set ups.
I dont play everyday, so frost emblems are a bit more difficult for me to aquire. I'm ok with gold, so i might be able to craft a piece or two.
I'm looking for some insight as to whether i could dps or off tank, and what i could do to make things easier. Any and hall help is welcome.
Thanks in advance!

what is your in-game gs? If it is above 5.3k people will probably take you to ICC 10 man
This. No matter how much we all hate it, gs is the new "must have" for PuGs. A good guild will understand but in a pug, gs is all that matters.
I personally am in the group of people that hate this because it's disproven by the black heart (ilvl 219 I think) being better than a whole bunch of other trinkets up till icc/togc content.

psh, simply put on a 245 or higher trinket for the invite...and switch to your better one once your in there. as long as you dont die, what are they gonna do about it? or if the raid leader is a non retard he should understand...not that one piece should gimp your gs that much either. and idk about other servers but 5k is usually the min for icc on kargath, raid leader depending of course, but if you have 5-5.2k just be patient and persistent and eventually you'll find a group.
gs has its uses when used properly, but some people get overzealous with the thing and make it seem like the be all end all tool. on the other hand...remember how it was before gs? "link dps and achieve"
id rather have gs with is easily displayed to everyone else with the addon than constantly know my dps (oh btw, dps is flawed too since i - and almost every class afaik - do a lot more on bosses than on a dummy...). not to mention achieves suck if youre not in a guild. oh thats cool, you expect me to have an achieve to join a pug...if im not in a raiding guild how do you suppose i kill the boss and get xp i need to have killed the boss 1st! its a catch-22 is what im trying to say basically. oh and what if you're on an alt. do they believe you that youve killed it w/o the achieve or are you screwed.
ANYWAYS, on topic:
for your tank set: moar stamina. even as an off tank shoot for at least 30k unbuffed in caster imo. drop those agility gems and do pure stamina. get an eternal belt buckle. get a better ring than the one with ArP on it. upgrade your staff with ony 25 version or run toc 25 for lupine longstaff/archon glaive. yea thats about it...just tweak your gear and gems a bit and you should have no problem as an OT in icc. oh and start watching videos/reading strats now...dont be that guy that doesnt know how to do a boss...
for balance: you're hit capped, good. crit is at a good level for now. keep stacking SP, haste and crit whenever possible and roughly at an even pace. but its pretty good for your gear. i think you may be able to get into an icc if you are an excellent moonkin, HOWEVER, i recommend you continue running toc 25 as your main focus; as well as doing daily heroic + weekly raid all the time. toc has many UGs for you since you have 219 & 232 gear. one suggestion is get triumph caster dps ring. you can still be hit capped with a draenei in your group and if you cant manage that you'll be close enough to the cap your dps wont be ruined.
in conclusion, could you do icc? i suppose if you got lucky and a pug took you along. should you? i think you'd be better off by focusing on doing toc 25 and getting EoF from daily heroic/weekly raid. there are many UGs for both sets in toc 25, and you can save up EoF to get icc 25 equal gear w/o ever setting foot into icc. oh also, VoA 10/25, do these every week. easiest way to get t10 legs/gloves. which means save up EoF for helm and chest (since you already have shoulders).
p.s i know its hard, especially as a druid, but pick your main set and go with it. use EoF for t10/emblem loot for your main set 1st and dont blow them on off set gear. an easy way to get that offset t10 is voa and then just wait till you have all the MS EoF gear before using EoF on off set.
hope something in this huge wall of text sticks out and can be useful.

not sure about boomkin but for your tank spec:
Gem straight stam, only gem otherwise to activate your meta
Downgrade your pvp gloves to 232 pve tier set your below hit cap and those will help with threat issues. (also enchant stam)
Try to get the
clutch of fort ring
from tri badges
Replace chest with t9 chest or if you have the gold get
this
its BiS until heroic version
226 Idol
is better then
245 idol
, its not a big deal though
If you want to equip a pvp piece use the
bracers
but since you are jc you will loose a bit of stam due to being able to use a 51stam gem there.
As for your spec, take the 1 pt out of KotJ and put it in OoC, you dont really want any points in KotJ until you are 4pc t10 and OoC = rage free moves (tho it is RNG)
Also when gearing with frost, aim for 2pc t10 first, then grab the belt, then collect the other pieces; and run 10/25 voa to try to get the t10 pants/gloves, do not spend frost on those because you can get them for 'free'

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate them all :-)
I'm not 100% sure on the Gs, but Moonkin was my main spec in the last guild i raided with and will probably be my main spec with whichever guild. but i want to prepare my feral gear just in case, I <3 tanking.. Moonkin is i think ~5k. Feral is probably closer to 4800. according to the GearScore Addon.
The feral profile was a little out of date, I updated it to include Clutch of Fort, as well as all the stam gems i was missing.
Downgrade your pvp gloves to 232 pve tier set your below hit cap and those will help with threat issues. (also enchant stam)
I compared the two.. I'd be trading armor, agi, stam, and crit for hit rating. I'm going to keep the pvp gloves for now and probably get the hit rating when i replace some other pieces.
Replace chest with t9 chest or if you have the gold get
this
its BiS until heroic version
That's gorgeous..

OoC... for a tank? really? I mean the point in kotj would probably be better spent elsewhere, but if im going for a mainly tank spec, ooc would be useless.
oh and start watching videos/reading strats now...dont be that guy that doesnt know how to do a boss
Reading them on Tankspot. i hear stratfu is good too.. ive yet to try them though.
since you have 219 & 232 gear. one suggestion is get triumph caster dps ring
I've been putting off getting that ring until i get the hit rating elsewhere. I'mg a stickler for hit, and if i replaced it as is i'd drop down to 8%. the boots are my only 219 piece, and i'm hoping to get some of the crafted ones.
in conclusion, could you do icc? i suppose if you got lucky and a pug took you along. should you? I'm not going to do any pugs unless theyre being run by a reputable guild. I have a few friends in some of the higher up raiding guilds, and I've spoken to them about it. they want to take me, its just my schedule that prevents me from doing so. Nobody I know does toc 25 anymore. And 99.9% of the pugs wipe on Beasts usually. its pretty terrible.
Does the gs boosting trick really work on pugs?

OoC will proc in bear from and allows next move that costs rage to be rage free, thus increasing your dps and (can) help improve rage management. As for
KotJ
yes its nice, but you still loose armor so if you use it when tanking you will prolly have to waste a barkskin cooldown so you dont take too much extra damage, but after you get
4pc T10
its actually an amazing talent to have due to not only increased damage output but also decreased damage taken.

Generally, yes, for a while i put two higher ilvl trinkets in to increase my gs to get the invite then before the fight i went to my normal ones and it worked out fine.

I may have been gone for a while.. but back when i used to tank ToC i was at 100 rage
all
the time. I had maul macro'd to just about all of my attacks so that it would hit every time i auto attacked.
rage has never been an issue with me, has it really changed so much for ICC?
I have kotj at the moment, using
this
feral hybrid spec. To be completely honest, i dont even notice the armor loss when I'm tanking heroics, nor did i when i was offtanking ToC. and the 15% boost is really nice when you're starting off and have a few trigger happy dps.
I liked that spec because it allowed me to tank a miniboss till it died.. like Jaraxxus' temptress and infernals, then continue dpsing the boss. or for single boss fights when we needed an extra melee dps. Its also nice when I dps alongside a not-so-great tank, and he dies, or loses aggro.

rage generation shouldnt be an issue, but there are times when you can run low. either way, a free attack is a free attack and can boost threat/dps.
big difference between a heroic and icc, but the armor isnt that huge. and with 4 t10 you dont lose the armor anymore, you actually gain damage reduction. so if you have/get 4pc use enrage whenever you want to.
