It was an illegal slave ring....of course, it was run by Rehgar Earthfury, who was an adviser of Thrall's and is currently one of the major members of the Earthen Ring now.....but anyone can have a bad past.

Didn't they have a sort of match going on in an open air arena in Orgrimmar near the beginning?

Not while Varian was a slave; the ring in Orgrimmar is where the challenge match among the orcs happens and wasn't connected to the illegal gladiator combat.

BEHOLD THE HORROR BEHOLD IT AND DON'T LOOK AWAY!
In case you just had a massive WTF on your brain, that's how forsaken males would look if they had the textures of the other races mapped into their bodies.
Aint pretty is it?

I've seen stuff like that before, actually.
The Draenei and Human are sorta cool looking...

Blood Elf is legitimately scary.
Dwarf and Human are the funniest.
Draenei is more or less okay. THAT CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE.

I've decided to start working on two Guides, and I'd like some resource information for them. I'm calling one The Roleplayer's Handbook, and I'd like to make it a comprehensive guide for all the aspects of roleplaying; everything from creating an RP character, to planning and organizing RP events. My other guide will be a heavily updated version of my guide to fan-fiction(still not sure how I'll title it). Like The Roleplayer's Handbook, this guide will also be comprehensive. It will cover the most basic aspects of fiction writing and also the more advanced aspects of fiction writing. I will cite specific examples to Warcraft lore, and make a section about writing Warcraft fan-fiction itself.
This will take a very long time to complete, so don't expect them to be done soon. That said, I need resources. I've bookmarked every relevant resource on Wowhead and WoWWiki that I think I need, including all the resources that are included within those resources. I need more. If anybody has a little gem of a resource laying around that they haven't posted within a current resource thread, I needs them. If you have something that you've posted, but you think it's relevant, post it anyway just to cover bases. I'm looking for things
outside
of Wowhead and WoWWiki.

Technically, Wowpedia is the same site as WoWiki, but with less annoying ads and I think better updated.
To be more precise, the people running WoWwiki got annoyed about something their domain host was trying to force on them (A new layout iirc) and decided to move to a new website; Wowpedia.
At least, that's what I think happened.

Can anyone who was in beta tell me how different the quests are for horde and alliance in pandaria? Are the zone questlines basically the same or are they different depending on your faction? Is it worth doing it as both sides or is it gonna be just the same experience?
Wasn't on the beta, but from what I've seen, only 3 zones have faction-based content. Jade Forest, Karasang Wilds, and Kun-Lai Summit.
While I can't speak for Karasang or Kun-Lai, on the Jade Forest, the intro (Read: First 20 quests) is the same for both sides. The rest of the questing is different, specially how the alliance recruits the Jynui (or whatever its spelled, THE FISH PEOPLE) and how the horde recruits the Hozu (Monkey tribe).
I'd say they're different quest-lines, but there aren't many alliance-exclusive/horde-exclusive quest-lines. Most are neutral.

Meh, at least jade forest is different for both sides. Although in a later patch the war is gonna really ramp up apparently, and I think that includes the zones and their questlines changing, so the experience should be very different in each zone once that patch arrives.
Ejem, notice that I did NOT confirmed or denied that the quests are different in Kun-Lai or Karasang (the only places where there's faction-specific quests). For all I know, the questchain could be very different for each side on these 2 zones.
But pandaria, much like northrend is made mostly of neutral quests. 60% neutral, 20% horde, 20% alliance. This is the ratio blizz has always used on their quest distribution.
And Jade Forest is initially identical for both sides. As I said, the intro for both sides is 95% identical. The rest of the quests are different though.
As for questlines changing on future patches, 5.1 will have the alliance and horde building giant fortresses on Karasang Wilds, so that HAS to change a bit the experience in the zone, so I recommend completing that ASAP as both alliance and horde if you want the full package. I know I'll complete it as both sides.
