New Star Wars Mini-Series coming out. I've always been a fan of Dark Horse's old republic comics, so I'm looking forward to this.

So...since
this is not what that thread is for, figured I'd bump this back up. And yes Skree, it is an epic scene.

Marvel's Cancerverse story line was quite excellent...and I can't remember what was happening on the Earth while that was occurring.....but then again, I've always preferred the Universe stories instead of just the main planet one.
And I still need to start reading the new DC 52 reset of the all of the main continuities...but will probably wait till people start gathering them up as mass torrents.
But the best story line in the last few years has still been Blackest Night, though the sequel Brightest Day wasn't outstanding; though, War of the Lanterns was quite excellent.
So, finally got a chance to read issues 230 and 231 of the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics...and wow, after the snoozefest of the four issue Genesis story line, the return to the original time line was awesome! Excellent writing, great art, and something of a twist(of course, since the cover for 231 was not well hidden, the fans knew what was coming) but still: Seeing Sally sacrifice herself to save everyone else from being robotized, and actually having it stick(for now), was one hell of a gut punch.
Really looking forward to the fall out to come, from Nagus taking over and the mysterious Project Cuddly from Robotnik being used(and if the off panel was anything to go off, it's gonna be huge).
So, currently re-reading the Wildstorm Universe, and I have to admit, on a second reading, I'm definitely missing things I missed the first time. I also found a reading list online, so I can finally get the 850 comics into an order to read, to see how the titles matched up; last time I read them, I just picked a title and read through them, ignoring most of the cross overs unless I really needed them to make the things match up.
And re-reading it, makes me realize just how awesome some of the artwork was for these books.
So, over the last week or so, been reading the 'deconstruction' of the Super Hero genre comics: Wanted, Black Summer, No Hero and Super God all by Warren Ellis...gory as hell, dark as @#$%, and shows what happens when real people are made into super heroes.
Also found a copy of the Squadron Supreme/Supreme Power(well the 2000's version)...again, takes the standard super hero ideals and flips it upside down and backwards.
And re-reading Irredeemable and Incorruptible; Irredeemable is about the Superman expy just giving and cutting loose: He kills millions over really childish things lol. Incorruptible is about one of the greatest villains of that universe stepping up and becoming a super hero as the main character from the comic went off his rocker.
Seriously, if you have a chance, any of those titles are well worth the reads.
So, I am slow lol; didn't realize that Season 9 of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics have started up or that the new Angel & Faith series had started as well. Gonna read them both and get all nice and caught up to see if they are as good as Season 8 and After the Fall.
So just finished reading the
Boys; dear gold it's an amazing read. Definitely worth the pick up, and since the series just ended recently you can read the whole thing.
And the World's Collide 12 issue Archie series has started: Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog....the first issue was actually pretty good; lots of good humour between Dr's Wily and Eggman/Robotnic. The new roboticerize is weird though...but that's what you get when you combine Wily and Egg tech. Looking forward to the next 6 months worth of comics.
Yes well...I know this post is weird.

I remember this thread....
I really, really, really like DC's new 52. I've been more of a Marvel guy my whole life, but their flagship series just haven't amazed me recently (Spider-Man? Really?). Some of my favorite panels have come out of the New 52, including (spoilers)
this one followed several issues later by
this.
