Edit: Why not point out in Genesis when God commanded man to wear fig leaves, and condemn me for not wearing fig leaves? Well, obviously that was in the garden, and I'm not in the garden. You can't take things out of context like that and expect to find some 'gotcha'.

If you refuse to look at the Bible as one entity, chopping it up into mincemeat to suit your criticisms, you're not going to understand anything.
Rules are made for specific circumstances. Morals are what persist. You wouldn't say a mother is wrong to tell her child not to touch a kitchen knife, yet it would be to tell a grown man not to (assuming he's not retarded or a serial killer or something). Circumstances change, so the rule changes. The underlying principle that knives are dangerous, however, does not change.
