If it's a dps increase I don't see the issue, considering how often I see melee roll on agility loaded weapons just because the dps(not counting stats) is an increase.
Thanks for exemplifying the concept behind the thread. For melee, the weapon is similar to our ranged, dps first, then the stats. Notice that gun's stats, nothing we can use, so obviously meant for tanks. Look at
this, great hunter weapon as well as melee dps weapon. Str = 2AP agi = 1AP for 2h melee, so it's balanced by adding attack power.
Just because it has agility, doesn't mean it's only for hunters. The reason blizz let us use almost every type of weapon is so fewer things get sharded, we are the cleanup crew of melee weaps. I can't think of any melee weapon that is obviously only meant for hunters.
Some making the rest of us look bad you greedy huntard.
You realize there is another class that uses agility as their primary stat right? That marrowstrike is hands down better for then hunters included? You realize that feral druids DO exist and that agility loaded two handed melee weapons are actually for them primarily, us secondary and all other melee after us? That's why they're itemized in that fashion. There's a reason why the best two handers for melee classes not counting feral druids, all have strength.
So when melee roll on a weapon itemized for us, simply because the actual base damage of the weapon is an upgrade, while the weapon itself would be of a similar upgrade to a hunter simply based off the stats being designed to target the hunters needed stats. It IS the same as a hunter wanting a ranged weapon that does the same thing. Because I can guarantee you the dps on Veranus bane > the stats added by a 200 or 213 ranged weapon appropriately itemized.
I'm not saying it's how things should be done, but if melee want to roll on poorly itemized items simply because it's an upgrade. hunters should start rolling on poorly itemized items simply because they're an upgrade as well.
Now this clearly doesnt apply to all players, as some players run in guilds where this isn't an issue, where all players understand gear and it's intended purpose.
No, the priority is Druids > melee > hunters. Agi on 2h weapons is not "poorly" itemized for dps, it is just not ideal. The idea is that druids use ALL the stats to the FULLEST, melee uses ALL the stats, but hunters use MOST of the stats.
I did not mention druids the first time, because it should be obvious.
