Been looking for a capstone reason to play after failing at getting a last essence for azeroth’s champion (big reason to come back for 8.2). Something like this even if a rehash of what alot of us did 3+ years ago is getting me excited.

Serious question: How do you motivate yourself to do this, if you dont upload to youtube? As of right now I got the book mount and have all 12 set appearances and felbear. Some chars are already at 3/3, but I really cant bring myself to grind it with every char. I mean back in Legion there was no question. You could hunt 36/36 for all weapon appearances. Sadly I didnt have the needed gear with all of them and also no time to equip them because of work, so I was stuck with 20/36 or something like that.

I really wish they would implement other tints from the Legendary Weapon or a title like "Jack of All Trades" etc.

This FoS is currently under the "Events" tab even though the Mage Tower is now available at all times and isn't really an "event" in a sense. I would like to see it under the general FoS tab so that it's both more appropriate and also more visible (being sorted next to WoW Anniversary and Winter Veil gift Feats of Strength is an actual shame for one of the more difficult achievements in the game).

Motivation? Easy. The amount of players with this achievement will forever be extremely low. In Legion, just finding a Tank player that had beaten it with all 6 Tanks was extremely low. I am one of those.
To present me a challenge that you cannot be carried thru is all the motivation I need.

I have completed the mage tower challenge on all specs in Legion. There should be a legacy achievement for that.

So, I managed to complete this a few days ago. What can I say, it was an incredibly fun challenge to complete every single challenge on every 36 specs. I loved every minute of it, although it was quite stressfull at certain times. Some challenges really pushed me to my limits, especially the class & spec combinations, I have never tried before.

A few things to note:

1. In Shadowlands, the challenges were far more difficult. With alot more talents and abilities in DF, it's way more approachable now, since the toolkit will help you.
2. Ravaged Seed Pod is still incredibly useful. I got it on every single character, since alot of my toons had really crappy levelling trinkets. 2nd trinket I used on most was Kil'jaeden's Burning Wish just for the stat stick. Rest of the gear was normal DF gear, with the expection of wearing Heart of Azeroth + Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve for the stat sticks. Keep in mind, that the challenges are perfectly doable without these gear pieces.
3. I completed majority of challenges without consumables, however challenges like Xylem P2, Kruul and God Queen's fury require Feral Hide Drums, aswell as a Potion of Unbridled Fury .

Now, ofcourse the list of challenges that were incredibly difficult, reasons why I think so, and reasons that were absolutely easy and surprised me. I didn't rank these fights, by judging from which characters I play, and which I don't. I judged this by how each of the classes / specs approach the bosses, and how you can counter the abilities to beat it.

1. Arcane mage - By far the hardest for me. Took 60 attempts to kill. Why? Because boon of the father is a 3 second cast, and sheep is 1.5 sec cast, meaning there's almost 0 room for error. You have to adapt your muscle memory, to multitask, but keep the cast a #1 prio. 3/4 of attempts were wipes due to me casting sheep too late, because there's just so many other things going on. The damage is also incredibly harsh, and since we rely only on orbs, there's nothing else to do. I found it more useful to BL in the last 2 overlaps, rather than the pull, because at first few minutes, barely anything was going on, while in th end, I needed that extra squeeze.
2. Assasination rogue - 2nd hardest for me. Rogue is just so squishy that it's insane, plus the overlaps with the guy enraging, and the shield going on at the same time, are just hideous. I had to plan CDs for it, meaning I would break shield #1 and evasion the guy with a combination of kidney shot, and I would just kite + cloak the cast on the 2nd overlap. Saving drums and prolonged potion for last 2 sequences was also the best decision.
3. Mistweaver monk - By far the hardest healer there was for me. P1 was incredibly brutal, once I wiped 20-30 times, I maybe failed the last phase once. The last 2 sets of adds are just insane. This challenge would become a breeze, if the adds would just keep attacking the paralyzed mob. Instead, they switch to the other NPC, making the knife sets so deadly. Monk is also incredibly squishy, meaning if the warriors reach you, you can barely keep yourself alive. Timing CDs to perfection here, is the only way to beat the challenge.
4. Brewmaster monk - By far the hardest tank. It lacks DPS in p2, and the knockbacks are so annoying. I died to knockbacks so many times, and there's literally nothing you can do about it.
5. Sub rogue - The problem with this one is P1. In frost phase, if you could always shadowstep to the boss rather than the icicles, it would make it so much easier. But RNG sometimes screws you over, and boss teleports too far. You lose so much hp with running to the boss, because 3-4 frost bolts will always hit you before you reach him. P2 was easy.
6. Disc priest - I struggled with disci quite badly, because you have to time CDs really well. Otherwise it's an easy fight. You just have to rotate how to deal with the boss' cast. If the cast + screech go off on the same time, you will die 100%. Once you know how to deal with the cast, it becomes easy.
7. Shadow priest - incredible DPS check. Easy mechanically, but you gotta push every GCD there is. In the last attempt, I actually let go a single cast of the hand + the add from the rune went off, because I chose to dps him down, which proved to be the right thing to do.
8. Boomkin - Same as shadow priest, and I killed him via the same way. Barkskin and full hp helped me survive the hand cast, and I just let the add chase me. If the fight would last 2 more seconds, I would die again.

These were by far the hardest. Now to the challenges that were literally a breeze.

1. Survival hunter - I never played survival hunter before, and I one shot the boss. The toolkit is just perfect to deal with the boss.
2. Arms warrior - Same as Survival, never played, and 2 shot the boss. Perfect toolkit to counter every ability.
3. Feral druid - Breeze, 1 shot it.
4. Enha shaman - Never played the spec, and 2 shot it. It was really easy, because passive hps is just insane. The only thing I had to watch was the hex cast.
5. Prot warrior - P1 is abit challenging, but getting to P2 is almost a guaranteed win. Warriors can reflect the healing cast the boss does, and this make it pretty trivial.
6. Demonology warlock- I was surprised how easy this was to do. It was my first time playing the spec, and I got it in 5-6 attempts.
7. Holy paladin - First time speccing as holy paladin, and the utility is just insane. I did it in 5 attempts, and most were stupid mistakes. The toolkit to counter the first phase is absolutely insane.

All in all, if you want a challenge, go for it! It's guaranteed fun! :)

If you use Witnesscm's macro and notice a class isn't completed, you can log into that character and use this macro to see which specific specs/challenges have been completed:
