Short answer: you kill dogs around the Rare and you get a debuff that stacks to 5. It lasts 10 min. Getting it again refreshes the 10 min.

Long answer: It seems inconsistent. This is day 1 of patch, found fellow strangers today and we noticed that killing other Dog type adds around Ylva gave us a 10min debuff called Blood of the Pack. Next to Ylva is 1 other creature, and across from that one is another. Behind Ylva, up on the ramp to the right is another, and up the ramp to the left are 2 more. We killed all of these twice each, because they only gave us the debuff sometimes. We couldnt figure out if it was just luck dependent, or if we had to do something specific like have it in view... but we killed them a couple times and sometimes they gave us the buff and other times they didnt. Good luck! All dogs are very close, within 10 sec of each other.

Had some problems with getting 5 stacks of the "Blood of the Pack" buff.
We had two druids and were soothing the enrage on the small dogs while we were killing them and did NOT get a stack when they weren't enraged.
Could have been a coincidence, but we tried leaving them enraged and got a stack of the buff when they were killed with it still on.
Again maybe a coincidence but that worked to get us to 5 stacks.

We then killed Ylva with all of us at 5 stacks and nobody got the achievement...
Waiting for a ticket response, but we shall see >.<

A little more info, just to add my experience. I was in a group which killed a dog before we pulled Ylva, we did not get a stack. Later I was in another group where we killed all 5, but only got 4 stacks. I immediately joined a new group, killed 3 dogs, and on the third kill I got my 5th stack (adding to the 4 from the last group). Everyone else in my group only had 3 stacks, but we ALL got the achievement. On my successful attempt, I got my last stack from a dog which did not have the enrage on, although the cast had gone off and it either expired or was removed. I am also not sure if the 5th stack I got was from the dog which did not give me a stack on the prior attempt.

This achievement seems pretty buggy, I'd recommend just chain joining groups until you get it as of now.

After some testing, my group and I found out that killing the dogs when they were angry always gave us a stack.

There are 5 Guarm re-skin creatures around Ylva. Kill each of these to obtain a stacking debuff.
This lasts for 10 minutes.

To clarify, the dogs enrage - Do not interupt this cast. Kill the dog asap.

Kill Ylva > Achievement.

Either it is buggy or only 1 person in the group needs to have 5 stacks. I just killed it with 1 stack and got the achievement. Didn't check if anyone in the group had 5 though...

To get this achievement you need to kill all five dogs to get 5 stacks of Blood of the Pack and then kill Ylva.

Looks like as of right now you can get this with only 1 person in a raid having all 5 of the debuffs from killing the kid dogs. (We had 7 people and only 3 of us had the debuffs, but the entire raid got the achieve) Additionally, if you happen to have killed a few and wanted to get everyone with the debuff, the kid dogs take less than the 10 minute debuff to respawn. At least for our group it did.

The achievement works!
- all dogs must be enraged while dying, the spell has a 20 sec cd and is interruptible... dont interrupt it. also it doesnt always work
- you can indeed farm the same mob multiple times
- dogs respawn after ~3 minutes
- pull dogs individually for safety
- we killed Ylva when she was enraged aswell, unsure if that is a criteria or not

To earn Guarmageddon achievement you have to do the following steps:

Travel to The Maw, Helgarde Keep, coordinates are 62.89 41.43
Within the area you can locate five children of Guarm mobs - Girs, Frekki, Hrodvetni,Vargir and Vanargun. They are elite mobs you need to kill to get Blood of the Pack debuff.
After stacking Blood of the Pack 5 times travel to 65.58 40.78 and kill Ylva before you lost all stacks.

Tips:

Killing a mob grants one stack of Blood of the Pack so you have to kill at least five mobs (sometimes you get no stack, may be glitch)
You can kill the same mob (respawn timer is around 3-4 min.) to get stacks.
Ylva may being on respawn timer when you come so you can either log out and check it later or keep killing mobs to refresh debuff timer.
Debuff increases incoming damage from related mobs (by 50% on 5 stacks).
Ylva has 1.360.000 HP and hits quite hard (and can cast enrage as well) so you need to have some gear to kill it before debuff expires. Better to call for aid.

Did this today with a friend. I was playing Unholy DK and he was playing Ele Shaman, We killed one of the dogs and got the debuff then killed 3 more seperately and got no debuff. Switched to blood (so no pets) and got debuffs from each following kill. Lead to believe that my pets were getting the killing blow or messing with it somehow considering 4 debuffs out of 5 were received with 0 pets out. Who knows?

I may have been unlucky with the spawn timers, but there was a quest mob where Yliva normally spawns while I was on the Korthia Campaign quest with Thrall and Draka (ending in Victory in Our Name). Whilst you can use the Necro tower to insta-kill the 5 dogs, when you leave to hand the quest in, the debuff disappears.

Just got the achievement. Stacks were inconsistent to say the least. 1 person would get a stack from an enraged dog, but then not the other 2 in the group. Took a good half hour to get all 3 of us 5 stacks. We all got the achievement 1st kill. Advice: just keep killing the doggos until you get the 5 stacks.

After many failed attempts and frustrated at the inconsistency, I made a point to kill the lesser dogs in the short time they were enraged (by waiting for a Bestial Howl when they were very low and not interrupting it). This got me the 5 stacks. I then did the same thing with Ylva, killing it while enraged, and finally got the achievement. I don't know if this actually matters, but something for others to try and confirm.

You have to kill them after they cast Bestial Howl, to get the stacks. That is their Enrage. They will not give you stacks if they aren't Enraged!

Today with my friend, we decided to do this achievement. For some reason the Blood of the Pack wasn't counting all the times. We were getting credit, only for each second kill, so we had to kill 10 of them instead 5. Most probably it's a bug, but when we killed the Ylva with 5 stacks, we got the achievement Guarmageddon right away.

I was able to solo this achievement very easily with the help of the Thrall and Draka during the campaign quests. If you haven't completed that part of the campaign yet and still need this achievement, just let Thrall tank all the mobs for you. He can get to 1 health but he never dies, and he constantly taunts to maintain aggro. Draka will throw a HoT on you from time to time so you shouldn't have to worry about taking damage.

I did this with a friend. We were stuck at 4 stacks, even though we killed the 5 dogs multiple times. So we swap realm (using the World Boss LFG), kill a dog and get our final stack. Then we swap realms a couple more time until we found one with Ylva, killed her and get the achievement.

If you are at 5 stacks already, killing another dog (even with the rage) does not reset your debuff timer.

If you are a pet class, make sure you get hit by the mob first, then let your pet attack, then kill it. This will give you the credit for the mark.

You can kill *ANY* of the puppies to get one stack of Blood of the Pack, in any order. You can even kill the same puppy more than once. And the most consistent method I found to ensure I got a stack was to wait for the puppy to cast Bestial Howl, and then pop all my cooldowns to quickly kill it while it was enraged. I tried killing them more slowly and waiting for them to get off a second cast of Bestial Howl before finishing them off, but I never got a stack that way.

From reading the comments I just want to confirm that you the player need to have 5 stacks, not Ylva.

I did a group for this just now and from all the failed attempts we had tonight, we didn't get credit until we killed Yiva while she's enraged from her own Bestial Howl in addition to the 5 stacks of Blood of the Pack on us from the other dogs.

To get the stacks reliably, kill the dogs while they have the Bestial Howl buff up. Once you have 5 stacks, kill Ylva

This achievement took me a little over an hour to solo and was very frustrating in terms of getting to 5 stacks.

I killed them each time when they had the enrage effect on them, and would get to 4 stacks instantly each time, but could never get to 5.
I tried killing them in a different order, phasing over using group finder, turning warmode off and on, killing the dog I was missing out of the 5, killing the same dog. No matter what I did I could not get the 5th stack until I killed one of the dogs that DID NOT have the enrage.

I have no idea why but that was my experience. It is likely that there is potentially some form of randomness to this I'm not understanding or it is just in-fact bugged (the more likely reasoning)

Alrighty, figured it out.

If you watch the buffs area on the hounds, they actually get 'Blood of the Pack' as well. You have to kill them while they have it. Regardless of whether they're currently in enrage status or not, it can be up. But it does tend to overlap with enrage so that's why it seemed like that was the important bit. Spent hours on this and multiple checks of the comments section before I saw that super tiny icon. Ugh.

Following up on reports that the Ylva kill was bugged, I didn't have any issues, but I also killed her while she had 'Blood of the Pack' up, so maybe that's important there too?

I had success once I decided to NOT use any CC or interrupts on the 5 dogs or the rare.

I also avoided all breath attacks, but doubt that has anything to do with it.

I struggled to get to 5 stacks like many others, so I decided to try killing them without any CC at all, no stuns fears interrupts etc. and then I was able to go 5 for 5 on buffs from dogs and then got achieve from rare. Some were killed while enraged, some not enraged. Some had 'Blood of the pack' some did not (rare did have a 3 stack of it).

It could just be coincidence, but worth a shot for anyone having trying and still having trouble.

It's not bugged but must be done in a specific way. You'll get (sure) stacks from the dogs if you kill them in the first enrage (so just save cd's and nuke them, timing the kill to be in the 10secs enrage phase). Get 5 stacks and kill Ylva in enrage phase.

Friend and I just got this.

We attempted to shard hop with a Mor'geth group when we had 5 stack of Blood of the Pack. It did no work.

We came back the next day and Ylva was up on our shard, so we got our 5 stacks of Blood of the Pack, and killed Ylva, and got the Achievement.

At this time, shard hoping to find a Ylva does not work.

This achievement took me a few attempts to get. This is exactly what worked for me.

I did not serve hop to kill Ylva. I killed her on my server.

I killed each of the other dogs to get stacks. I noticed that sometimes I wasn't getting credit. I was stuck at 3 stacks and killed 5 other dogs and did not get any stacks. What worked for me to get the last two stacks with only two dogs was to make sure they were buffed with Beastial Howl AND I WAS STANDING RIGHT ON TOP OF THEM. This worked for me flawlessly.

I killed Ylva and made sure that she had the buff up.

"Blood of the Pack" Debuff is TOTALLY Random, it doesnt matter if they have enrage or not, if they die fast or slow, it´s literally random.

I got the achievement in one hour, maybe some minutes less.

I made a group of 3 people, they were from different servers, we killed the poppies at least 15 times, until we got 5 stacks of the debuff and when we wanted to kill YIva, she was dead, that´s the moment when you can realm hop, just disband your group and re inv with a new leader from a different server than the original group.

Like others I have killed her with 5 x stacks of "Blood of the Pack" on myself, yet no achieve. What I think is important is that she also has 5 x stacks on her. So, be sure to kill her children close enough for her to be in range (if you can target her you should be close enough).

Today I had 5 x stacks and noticed she only had 3, so I kept killing the children until she also had 5. It seems you cannot go above 5 x stacks yourself, but the downside to this is that the timer cannot refresh when you kill one of the children (and give her a stack). I ended up having about 4 mins left on the debuff when I pulled her, and only 15 seconds left when I killed her, so it was a bit of a nailbiter!

As for getting stacks, while there seems to be some randomness to it, if killing the children during their first enrage I was getting a stack around 75% of the time. Of the 8 I killed, 6 of them applied a stack to either me and/or Yiva (pretty consistent with what I was seeing the other day when I tried and the achieve didn't pop).

So yea, the wording on the achieve could be made clearer, or her obtaining stacks could be more consistent with you getting stacks...but I hope this helps people get the achieve.

Got the achievement today with 5 stacks on her and myself. I tried before with just 5 stacks on me and didn't get it. Just kill the adds close to her while they have the enrage buff. Refreshing still seems random. Tried twice when she was at 5 stacks and it didn't work so make sure you have a group ready to kill.

I've killed all 5 different dogs, while they had their first enrage buff, and didn't get stacks from 3 out of the 5.

This is still kind of busted, though at least it's doable in a reasonable amount of time.

Killed 4 out of 5 of the puppies, got a stack of the debuff each time. Killed the fifth, no debuff.
Waited around while each of them spawned again, killed the first three in the same order, no debuff stack.
The one closest to Yiva spawned next (out of kill order) so I killed it and no debuff.
Finally killed the last one (the one next to the World Boss) at around 2-3minutes left of the debuff, got the fifth stack. Proceeded to kill Yiva with no problems and the achievement popped when she died.

So in short, if one pass around doesn't get all five debuffs, give them some time to respawn and try again.

In order to gain a stack of Blood of the Pack on every kill:

Do not kill them while they are casting
Do not kill them while they are CC'd (including silence)

This also applies to getting the achievement when you kill Ylva
This also applies to renewing the duration when you're already at 5 stacks (repeatedly confirmed waiting for a 2nd Ylva respawn).

It's most effective to get them low, 30K ~ 50K health. Wait for them to hard cast their breath or enrage. Then, kill them quickly. There is a delay between when they can cast consecutive abilities.

The comments about needing the dogs to have enrage or stacks of Blood of the Pack are incorrect. What appears to be going on is they instant cast the debuff on you when they die. CC's and the dogs actively casting prevent that instant cast from going off.

There may be an anti-cheese mechanic built into this achievement, so I killed them 1 at a time.

Just got the achievement today:

1. Ylva was my first rare kill today.
2. Ylva was only 2 Blood of the Pack stacks on her. (Ylva can stack the debuff herself too, if you kill the hydras near her, but for achievement don't need this)
3. I killed all 5 hydra mob, you need to kill those when the enrage buff active on hydras.
4. If you got 5 stacks just kill Ylva.
5. If you didn't get stack from any hydra, just wait for respawn and kill again. (I killed Gris three times).
6. I think you can gain the stacks from the same hydra, but you need to gain it from all 5 separately.
7. I didn't do any server hop.
8. Soloed with Holy priest.
9. Sorry for my english :)

On DF, even if you kill all five dogs and get the stacks, it doesn't pop the achievement if you kill Yiva...

I got this achievement today very easily. Went to the spot in the Maw and the rare wasn't up but one of the pups was. I killed it and got the buff immediately (I am a hunter and was using two pets, saw comments that you shouldn't have pets). I refreshed the buff and got to 5 by killing other pups as they respawned (I wasn't very close to them, was killing them quickly and wasn't taking them anymore near the rare since she wasn't up). I did the same thing for about an hour because the rare wasn't up, so I kept refreshing the buff every 5 minutes or so by rotating the pups, some didn't give me the buff at times but most did. Eventually the rare spawned, I killed it while I had 5 stacks, she had none since she had just spawned and I hadn't killed any pups near her, and I got the achievement as she died.

So really I am not sure what most of the comments here are about, just wanted to point out it can happen very easily too...
