Ensidia suspended for 72 Hours
A few hours ago, all the players involved in the Lich King 25 world first kill of Ensidia had their account suspended for 72 hours, Gamemasters also removed the achievements and loot acquired during yesterday's raid.

Date of Violation: 03/02/2010
Type of violation: Exploitation – Abuse of in-game mechanics or glitches with intent to exploit or cheat in World of Warcraft.
Details: Use of Saronite Bombs to bypass The Lich King fight mechanics Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours, all items and achievements gained removed

First, it seems that the bug was caused by a single rogue (always blame it on the rogues!) who used Saronite Bombs throughout the fight. Apparently the siege damage caused by the bombs bugged the encounter's mechanics and respawned the platform destroyed by the Lich King during the encounter.

It results in the fight being fairly easier because you end up with more room to move and more importantly, you do not have to care about Valkyrs taking away your raid members anymore. (They will just land on the rebuilt platform when they fall down)(##RESPBREAK##)6408##DELIM##CalaelenDT##DELIM##

Sporonite Bomb is possibly looted from a "Truffle" you can find for 15min after using Pig Nose.

I used 2 of them and ran around Stormsong Valley and was able to find ~25 Truffles in 30 minutes. Sadly none of them were Sporonite Bomb.
Truffles I found were under trees, close to trunks of 4 different varieties. Mostly blue Magic Truffle, or tiny black/violet Violet Truffle or tiny brownish round that only gives movement speed buff. Or a quite big Valley Truffle but rare as I found only 1 in 30 minutes.

Remember, this is only a speculation at the moment.

Please respond if you found Sporonite Bomb truffle and where or how it looks. : )

anyone try using pig nose in drustvar? seeing as its night there and its a bomb so it could be a curse ....and theres alot of pigs

So I flew across all 3 zones in Kul'Tiras and could not cache Sporonite Bomb in the Wowhead client. I tried this with and without the pig nose. So either the bomb is on Zandalar or the item has to be created and is not an object you can interact with. I'm very curious how this achievement is going to be done, but I am just contributing to the find that KT does not have a clickable object with or without the pig nose on any of the 3 sub zones.

Spent 4 hours (2hrs during day (3pm US Central Time) and 2hrs at night (8pm US Central Time)) searching truffle containers I found no bombs.

However, I still think it may come from a truffle spawn. Assuming the spell is correct in stating that this is a nighttime spawn (huge assumption) I have figured out that 1 truffle spawn does indeed only appear at "night". Truffle aka Truffle didn't show in the wowhead looter cache until my night run.

Wowhead shows that it drops the Valley Truffle (assuming wowhead waypoints are accurate) I went to those points there were Truffles there but the loot was varied, between all
My conclusions are:
A) The night only Truffle container Truffle is rng loaded and has the bomb in its "shuffle" somewhere.
B) The bomb is a super rare drop from a mob (highly doubtful at this point unless the mob that drops it hasn't been spawned in-game yet)
C) The bomb is not looted from a truffle container and I'm back at square 1 and have wasted a lot of time on this :|

This data of sorts was collected on a Horde character with all outposts unlocked
Have not tried this run on an Alliance character to rule out if there are phasing changes/differences (if any)

Tip: I used the macro from Edge of Reality comments section by user Laraven:

What this will do is play a sound (YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!) whenever the tooltip shows ~~"Edge of Reality".~~ "Truffle" When you mouse over a truffle container showing the tooltip "Truffle" it triggers the sound" The macro will also take a screen shot of the portal. You will need to hit the macro each time your UI is reset.

Containers are objects not NPC's (like camel figurine) they can't be scanned like npcscan and such. WARNING: this gets a bit wonky as sometimes the "you are not prepared!" yelled at me 4-5 times in a row from the same truffle xD

TL;DR of science:
Truffle search in wowhead
5 in total
1 interactive - Turbo Truffle
4 container

Daytime run (3pm US Central Time) I had looted all 3 flavors of truffles and the turbo truffle buff
wowhead looter cache showed:
Truffle - container truffle
Truffle - container truffle
Truffle - interactive truffle
Truffle - container truffle

Nighttime (8pm US Central Time) run wowhead looter showed the "missing" container:
Truffle - I checked each waypoint shown on wowhead map, looted truffle varied between 1 of the 4 types

--My route--

I checked almost every tree i could find (small margin of error)
The islands off the coast (western, northern, and Shrine island) i found no truffle spawns
The trees on the mountains in the south (pine trees?) I found no truffle spawns
The "nighttime truffle container" didn't appear in the cache until I ran a route that covered the large area in the southern part of Stormsong
(Briarback Kraul - Deadwash - Sagehold (skirted along the southern part did NOT go into town) - Brennadam)
I did go up the southern mountains to the Azerite wq area that is still in SsV but found 0 truffles of any kind thinking "sporonite = truffle + azerite?"

I can provide the following information. I found the bomb while looking for the truffles with the pig nose buff. It was around 6:15 pm server time on US Dalaran on 9/21 when I found the bomb. I did not take a screenshot, but the mushroom it came from did not look the same as the rest of the truffles. It looked somewhat like 3 whitecap mushrooms clumped together under a tree. I didn't take note of exact location, but it was at the trees near the bears just north of Briarback Kraul.

Hope this helps someone else complete the achievement

Thought I'd add a new comment for visibility. Thanks to hub2000 for bringing his find and info to our attention.

After tonight's hotfixes I found the Sporonite Bomb at 23.3, 75.7 in Stormsong Valley. It can be found just like the other truffles in the zone by first using a Pig Nose and then searching under trees for the clickable Truffles

After you have obtained the Bomb, simply run to The Lichen King rare at 51.8, 79.2, engage him in combat and use the Bomb on him to obtain the achievement Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives.

Lots of theories on how to get this achievement.

But in the end, turns out it was just bugged.

As of 9/21's hotfix, it has been fixed. You can now find sporonite bombs among the truffles with ease.

I just threw Sporonite Bomb on The Lichen King and did not get the achievement.

Edit: I got Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives after I went into the cave and tagged him first before throwing Sporonite Bomb

As of the hotfix (21 of september) it's now obtainbale.
it spawns just like the other truffles, you do need the pig nose Pig Nose

You do not need to kill the rare in order to get the achievement, just throw it (Sporonite Bomb) on him,

Key note is that the achievement is personal.

I think it's noteworthy to mention that you must engage the The Lichen King before using the Sporonite Bomb. If you use it out of combat, it will not count towards Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives.

Sometimes I wonder if blizzard went through all the work with the pig snout, hobbs, some poor developer manually placing all of those truffles, and adding the litchen king just to take advantage of this clever mushroom pun.

NONE of the above Tom Tom cords worked. Turns out this bomb is an OFFSPAWN of ANY truffle so I started doing "Everyday I'm Trufflin" achievement. Made a single macro of all the known truffle spawn locations reported (by that wowhead post) with the addon macro toolkit (makes macros go over 1000 characters instead of the default). Took 2 noses to find 3 of the different truffles and only ONE of them at the end was a bomb - looks like a clump of flat mushrooms and quite different to the other truffles (not a crystal as in the pics above). For what it's worth I found my bomb at /way 52, 32 Hope this helps!

I'm 99% certain that the truffle spawn locations are shared by all types of truffles. But in case they're not, here is where I found a Sporonite Bomb truffle: 59.10, 59.27. Truffles are always found at the base of trees, and they don't glow, so they can be hard to see. I recommend turning your Ground Clutter setting to 1, which will hide grass that could obscure the locations. The truffle you're looking for is large relative to the other types, and looks like a group of short, white, flat mushrooms with a cone-shaped head.

Also, the truffle is not bound on pickup, so you could potentially buy one of these off the AH or have a friend send you one.

I tried to get the achievement and i failed twice. I did exactly what BeWasted wrote (thx by the way). Send tickets and received idiot answers. Third attempt (i played hunter) i dismiss my pet and...get the achievement. I hope this helps.

After finding almost 100 truffles to get this achievement, don't bother with waypoints, the truffles spawn all over Stormsong under trees, too many spawnpoints to map out.
Out of those 100 or so, the vast majority were either the Magic Truffle or Turbo Truffle, only found 3 Valley Truffle, 2 Violet Truffle, and 1 Sporonite Truffle. The truffles can be bought off the AH.
They are small. Smaller than your standard mouse/gauntlet cursor.
Turn your graphics to lowest settings possible.
If you mouse over one, it will show "Truffle" in the bottom right corner of your screen (or however you have your UI setup) for ~2-3s. I would move my cursor in a circle as I was flying around the base of trees. Can use this to help look through bushes with your cursor as you're flying by.

This achievement takes some prep work. Before you can even begin to get this achievement, you will need to farm some Briarback Quills (unless you are lucky enough to find the Sporonite Bomb you need on the AH, in which case you can just skip to the part of this post where it talks about the bonus achievement.) Briarback Quills can be used to easily obtain TWO achievements, as long as players are willing to be patient and hold a few items in their bags. Briarback Quills drop from a variety of Briarback mobs, and just through simple questing & WQ's you can obtain quite a few of them.

As soon as you have a stack of 25 quills, use them to buy a Pig Nose from Hobbs. Don't save the quills up for a bunch of pig noses if you can help it, because it is much easier to do this achievement in increments to avoid fatigue. The pig nose lasts 15 minutes, and that seems like a pretty good amount of time to search without losing your mind.

The pig noses will allow you to see special truffles in Stormsong Valley. Having all of the buffs from the truffles active at once will give you the achievement Every Day I'm Truffling. Don't bother with waypoints or mapping or anything like that. I tried that and it was a gigantic waste of time because there are just too many truffle spawn points to even keep an organized route. They seem to spawn under all the trees, so just look under every clump of trees you see, make sure to zoom in your camera and wiggle your mouse back and forth to make sure you haven't missed one. They are very small, and you can't target the truffles, but a tooltip will appear if you hover over one. (Note: it is extremely helpful to temporarily turn your graphics down so that the ground clutter is at a minimum.)

Grab every truffle you see, even ones you don't need, because they will cause a respawn. As far as I could tell, the name of the truffle had nothing to do with where they spawned, they all seem to be able to spawn anywhere in the zone.

The Turbo Truffle looks like a brownish-yellow mushroom with a green fringe. They don't give loot, only a buff. These are the last ones you need to worry about, but again, just make sure that you are consistently looting all of them so that the ones you need will spawn.

The Magic Truffle is the easiest to find, it looks like a blue clump of mushrooms. You can sell them for 10g a piece to a vendor, try to sell them on the AH, or use them for the actual buff. Keep at least one in your bags at all times though so that you are able to quickly get the achievement when you finally collect all the other truffles.

The Violet Truffle looks like something from the void, purplish-black and comes to a sharp point on the cap. These are very rare. Do not be surprised if you go through more than one Pig Nose without finding any. If you have the money to spare, I would suggest searching for these on the AH. Otherwise, continue searching for them each time you have enough quills to buy a pig nose.

The Valley Truffle looks like a small white crystal. These are also very rare, and it should come as no surprise if you don't find any of them on one of your hunts. If you have money to spare, I would also suggest searching for these on the AH. Otherwise, continue to search the usual way.

Keep at least one of each mushroom in your bags until you have all three of the lootable ones! When you have collected all three lootable mushrooms (Magic Truffle, Violet Truffle, Valley Truffle), use one last Pig Nose to go searching for the Turbo Truffle buff. As soon as you find one and get the buff, eat one of each mushroom type from within your bags. This will instantly give you the achievement Every Day I'm Truffling.

BONUS ACHIEVEMENT:
At some point while searching for the other truffles, it is almost a guarantee that you will find and loot the Sporonite Bomb, which looks like a gray mushroom with a wide, flat cap. I found multiple of these while searching for the others. They are able to be sold on the AH, so if you don't feel like searching (or you have extra to sell) the AH is always a good alternative.

To get the Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives achievement, head to 51.8, 79.6 and engage The Lichen King. MAKE SURE to ENGAGE him in combat before throwing the Sporonite Bomb. You will automatically receive the achievement, even if you die without actually killing the mob.

A little patience goes a LONG way in accomplishing these two achievements. If you try to grind it all out at once, you will probably lose your mind. This isn't one of those things that you just knock out really quick some night when you are bored, unless you feel like getting burnt out and/or threatening to throw your computer through a window. Just do it a little at a time and eventually you will get both of these achievements and it will feel like a breeze.

To trigger the achievement, you can just facepull the rare to engage him in combat before throwing the bomb; no need to damage him.

No wonder I always have bag space issues. Not only am I dealing with multiple areas of the Shadowlands expansion with all of the 'stuff' I need to keep (I think) but I still have items from the Azeroth expansion! Thankfully I now have one less item Sporonite Bomb after coming back to finish this achieve. I'm not quite ready to go Truffle hunting again though.
