Seems that story mode won't open until the week of August 19th, 2025. In the meantime, you can continue the campaign by accepting "The Oasis".
Check your map and quest journal.

It's super annoying that it says "Enter in story mode (optional)" but if we enter via LFR it doesn't count.... Totally makes sense...

Don't forget to click the portal after killing dimensius, since that's a requirement to actually finish the quest, if you DC or leave, you won't actually complete the quest.

Edit: there's an npc to the left of the entrance of the raid, speak to Phase-General Ameer and ask to see the events of the raid, and the "use portal" quest objective will be fulfilled.

how do we skip to this quest on alts? like when we had finished the undermine campaign on a main ,alts could skip to it, surely we dont have to do from 3/5 on every alt?

I can't pick this quest up on all alts. If you did the skip before the Oasis was up it seems to make the quest unavailable.

Talk with Phase-General Ameer to the left of the raid portal and you can enter story mode.

Story mode is now working!
Once you have the quest, speak to Phase-General Ameer /way 42.02, 22.34 (just outside the raid)
**IMPORTANT** Have Skyriding enable or you will not be able to complete the encounter.
STORY MODE:
Once inside walk up to dimensius (only 1 way you can do). When ready to start the encounter walk near a portal on the left/right and use the extra action button (Must have Reshii Wraps on).

For anyone that left the story mode without clicking on the portal. You can go back to the NPC to watch the cinematic and complete the quest. No need to do kill Dimensius again.

I kill him in the first phase, then mount up (steady flying I can't do that surge stuff) and fly through the rings. Then it fails. But there's no rings left. What am I missing? thanks!

you got 1 second after u kill 1st boss to click ur mount, if u dont u float to ur Death....IF u suck -seed to mount, u fly thru rings to the next platform, now u do the same thing, u got 1 sec to mount wen u see ur mount available....i started to fly thru a ring to the nxt platform i guess an died instantly,,,!F@C#K off this Qst to HELL

It's not really clear what to do, especially in the transition to phase 2 so here is a breakdown:

I found it easier to do in dragon riding flight style. Make your way to Dimensius and use your cloak's extra action button to port over to his platform.

Phase 1, DPS Dimensius to 0% which will then transition you to phase 2

Phase 2, you will get knocked up in the air and then settle on a dark orb. If you just stand there wondering, now what?, you will fairly quickly fall and die. But as soon as you get knocked in the air and settle on the orb, you will be able to mount up. When you do that fly through the portal rings (like you are doing the dragon riding races) using your dragon riding skills until you reach a small platform. Kill the mini boss there, then mount up, and fly through a second set of rings to another small platform where you kill a second mini boss. Once that one dies, you will get sucked into a portal and dropped onto a bigger platform where you enter Phase 3

Phase 3, Kill adds and DPS Dimensius to 0% health again

Wait for a brief monologue until a clickable portal appears. Click that which will take you to a cinematic and complete the quest

What a horrible quest. Completely unclear what to do. The rings are often not there or very hard to see. Also sometimes I cannot mount at all. Stopped trying after dying 8 times.

How do I kill that Add without dying on the first platform (after the sky ride)?
There is no time to flee into a safe zone. it casts Extinction and that's it. rinse and repeat. fight dimensius again, fly through the rings and die again.
Is there any way to guess where the safe zone is?

Annoying.

The fact I've had to come a third-party website to find out what I'm supposed to do in the second part of the fight tells me the story-mode encounter is poor game design in the extreme.

If you leave the raid after defeating Dimensius instead of taking the portal, you can talk to Phase-General Ameer to play the ending cinematic which gives credit for "taking the portal" and lets you complete the quest.

Got a disconnect after taking portal back literally in the middle of the ending cinematic. After relog found myself in Dornogal.

SO get ready to die. A lot. Sometimes for no reason at all.

To have any chance at all you'll need to study one of the videos out there. And even at that, you'll die multiple times for no apparent reason, just to have to start all over again at the long-assed phase 1 fight. (For example - complete phase 2 - fly off following the "lead" who says to follow her - just to get nuked in midair with no warning)

Oh, and you have to figure out how to get through this to progress with the storyline.

C'mon, Bliz. Not asking for it to be easy, but it shouldn't take me all day and thousands of gold in repairs to make it through a freaking storyline quest...

Ok, finished the fight.

Second phase, you don't need to necessarily be in Skyriding mode, but you need to move quickly. Mount up and follow the circles. Don't stop to look around, go afk, whatever. You only have seconds to get between each ring and you will die if you don't make it. The distance between rings gets longer on the second part of phase 2. I didn't use Skyriding mode, and it was close on the last bit.

Never in my life has a game made me want to punch my monitor, but this quest did. Alt-F4 is the only thing that saved it. This is a total crock of !@#$%^&, and I deeply regret paying for game time.

To get this on your ALT whose campaign is at 3/5:

Go to 74,30 in K'aresh (inside the Oasis dome) and talk to Soul-Scribe, he will offer you a Skip for the campaign chapter 4.

Then the raid quest will be offered by Alleria outside the raid. (And talk to Phase-General Ameer to enter story mode of course)

Is this thing bugged? I did this on my main a couple weeks ago, my only deaths came from trying to figure how to mount, once I mounted everything else was easy. Now on an alt, I mount, fly to the 2nd platform and aoe spell doesn't give you time to get to the clearing, on my main I had plenty of time. After about my 5th death, I decided to just take a 50/50 guess and run to the left side, sure it enough the clearing was on the left, I was in the clearing and still died.

I have tried this for two days, no matter what i try its fails, the second phase never lets me avoid the first AOE and it's a complete cluster. may i thank Blizzard for finalizing my decision to quit and never returning,

I just went here because I kept dying after the start of the second phase, since mounting up and flying around is literally the last thing I would expect in a boss encounter.
For my third try, I knew this and was looking forward to the end here ... and apparently, it is possible for the NPCs to make the same "everyone runs in the same direction with the debuff" mistake I've seen countless times from people. I did NOT expect to die in story mode because the NPCs wiped the group. Wild.

For anyone that cannot find this quest on alts. You need to go talk to Soul-Scribe who has this quest - The Next Dimension and there is another option to skip. Once skipped then head over to the raid entrance and find Alleria who will have the quest for you to pick up.

If you don't raid much like me, you'll find this quest almost impossible to complete. It took me the best part of the weekend and countless attempts to finally defeat Dimensius. The steps below start from the first time you respawn after dying in the first encounter or mid-space.

Opening encounter

1. Unless Skyriding is second nature to you and you are completely confident in your abilities to run through rings under time pressure and with unexpected height drops, do yourself a favor and switch to steady flight. It is currently available inside the raid even if you have not completed the Pathfinder achievement (I love Skyriding but this is not the time to have fun).

2. During the first encounter, all you need to do is avoid the AoE attacks you can avoid. The one you cannot avoid because it keeps following you, don't bother. Heal yourself if you can or wait for the heals. You can throw in some damage if you want, but my advice is to take this time to breathe and focus on the next step as you'll need to act quickly.

3. When Xal'atath yells "I've got you!" look at your mount button. As soon as it lights up, mount up and immediately start flying through the rings. I took just a second to adjust the tilt of the camera to face the rings and make it easier to fly through. Watch out for the height drop after the third ring, for half a second you will need to stop moving forward and drop down. Later I found out that you may not need to fly through the rings if you are not Skyriding, so you may want to try and reach the platforms on your own.

First platform

4. You can throw in some damage but I recommend focusing on being on the right spot at the right time. You want to stay close to your raid group. They will quickly move to the center of the platform because that is where you will need to be when Dimensius sends out his first deadly burst, but first avoid the burst from Artoshion, which is relatively easy to do (only two lines on the ground). When you see lines covering most of the platform, you will only have 3-4 seconds to reach the "spike" on the edge of the platform that will be the only safe space left. If you don't see it right away, follow your raid party as quickly as you can.

5. Repeat the previous step until the first boss dies, breathe, and look at your flying mount button again. Mount up and start flying really fast. This time the rings will be more difficult to see but flying up and around for a second or two should bring the first into view. Fly through the rings as fast as you can otherwise you will run out of... something and die instantly mid-space before reaching the last ring.

Second platform

6. The second platform will be exactly the same as the first one except with a different boss called Pargoth). When I finally made it here, I did not die anymore and made it right to the end of the quest, so hopefully it will be the same for you.

Final encounter

7. Here again focus on avoiding the AoE attacks you can avoid by staying close to the outer margin. There is a safe strip, a narrow circle where you will be safe the whole encounter. If you find yourself closer to the center, slowly but constantly move sideways to avoid whatever is bursting up from the ground. At this point I felt confident enough to throw in some damage of my own, and eventually as much damage so that the whole thing would be over and I could finally get credit.

Rewards an Enchanted Runed Ethereal Crest—but the real reward is going back to play for fun. The dungeon quest that follows in the campaign (and you can complete with Followers) will feel like a breeze.

Gobsmacked this is still so buggy still... after phase two I either can't mount or it disappears after 1-3 circles and I drop to my death... I'm really tired of wasting repairs on this buggy pos. Been struggling to find motivation to play the game lately and this has absolutely killed it, gj Blizz...

Hello, I did the quest but the first time, I got an error telling me that the cutscene could not be played. I was near General Ameer and I played the cutscene but I did not complete the quest. I abandoned the quest and started again but this time, the cutscene does not replay and still impossible to turn in the quest. I made a video that you can see below showing that I do all the steps. Have you already encountered this problem?

Ran this today and everything seemed to work properly.
You need to talk to Phase-General Ameer to start story mode.
He is a big dude in the middle, to the left of the entrance.
Make sure you set Skyriding flight style before entering.

After you kill Dimmy, you can just leave the group instead of waiting for the portal.
Once out, just talk to Phase-General Ameer to finish the last step and turn in.

Now, if they would only fix Dawnbreaker!

So I play A LOT of alts, as I'm sure most do and I'm having trouble picking up this Dimensius story-mode quest even though I've done it on half a dozen alts already and the ONLY thing I can thing of is that on this particular alt I had chosen the skip after only finishing 3 chapters on my main. Can anyone confirm that this would be why? Also I have completed the full story on my main so shouldn't it automatically mark it as warband completed on all characters?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can be obtained by alts because they will only skip right up to this quest, leaving The Knife's Edge at 4/5 and The Light of K'aresh gray. Maybe it's for the best so they can still get the Enchanted Runed Ethereal Crest reward, but 4 weeks after I somehow managed to complete this quest on my main I still don't feel like ever going even close to Shan'dorah or Shadow Point again.

Wow, what a horrible quest. Tackling it for the first time as the whole Karesh story line didn't interest me as much as the others.

Haven't defeated it, I cannot do any kind of arcade thing as I am old so I hate skyriding unless I absolutely know where I am going. Only trick I have found if you are using regular flight is to pick one of mounts that instamounts, like the dragons from dragonflight. The summoning ones just use up that few seconds of time you will need.

Probably bugged as of 12/03

I completed 85037 Thats a Wrap on an alt but did not get the follow up quest. Alleria has no quest for me. I cannot share the quest to a guildie that met the prerequisites (85037) and neither can they share the quest to me on that alt.

I clicked the portal, and I even went to the NPC to play the movie. It wouldn't complete.

i have come to the conclusion i am never going to be able to complete this
i die they rez me i keep fighting and right before he is almost dead i get killed again and he goes back to 100%
i stay as far back as i can like i read to do
i send in every pet i can and renew my dot's often
i dont understand what im doing wrong, one time i did get to the next part and was like in a space and blue stuff or something then i died
i am so frustrated at this point idk what to do
i am stuck in campaign hell cuz i cant seem to figure out where to go to complete ghost hunter....have the wraps, wearing the wraps still cant do conduit so i was told to go do all the other campaign quests in the zone but no others show up for me

Abandoned the quest "dimensius defeated" , and then get the quest it again, the NPCs are not there to join me in 10p raid. I cannot enter the dungeon alone. It is a deadlock for weeks. I even tried restarted the whole campaign.

ATTENTION:
After phase 2 (After you land on t he first island), the fight might bugg and the boss will keep casping 2 spells to wipe the rock island. if this happens. just wipe and start over.
You are meant to engage flying just after youve killed the mob in the rock island.
