Go to the southern end of the dome, the opposite of what is shown as the quest marker Coords 73.84, 37.81.

You then have to run a race vs the alpha. You hit boots to give a 5 sec buff, just chain them.

Watch for the stairs, jump to the left of them and then run up the left side OR go up and hook left quickly. If you lose you buff you can catch up and BARELY win.

Don't do this quest mounted; the little speed boost is for run speed only. Even starting this mounted and going slow, I still beat it, so never give up!

For turn in you have to return to Hemet and not at the end of the race location.

Thanks to whoever designed this so you can get stuck on the side of the stairs. With the Oasis, I still think devs are having a "worst quest in the game" competition, and we're far from having it over.

I lost the race badly (got stuck on the stair rail) and was still able to complete the quest. I didn't bother trying again to see if anything different happens if you win.

I was still Phase-diving (mounted) when i did this quest. The boots do NOT increase your speed, at least while Phase-Diving. But good news: you don't need to WIN the race, only COMPLETE it. I lost by like 15 seconds, but still completed the quest when I reached the end.

I lost the race, but wanted to win for the achievement, is there another way to initiate the race again once lost?

Even if you win, you will not get the achievement from this quest

For progress towards achievement it must be done on challenge mode. For the achievement just use speed increase spells (Divine Steed) etc. Straight to the end point of the race and pick up some speed boosts on the way there, literally just straight lined it to the finish line and got progress to achievement, remember the achievement is called brokers don't care how you win, Afterall. P.S you can reset your quest if you lose by interacting with the Slateback. YOU CANNOT MOUNT AND DON'T DO IT IN PHASEDIVING.

Speed boosts do NOT work in druid travel form: Just be yourself, unmounted, untransformed, and collect the speed boosts.

Description

Been talkin' to Ve'nari and Om'talad--trying to help the slatebacks get together. Apparently slatebacks used to display virility by engaging in races. Challenge the slateback alpha to a race. At worst, you'll both get some exercise. At best, it will increase the likelihood of a successful pairing.
