Unfortunately, ordinary coordinates and TomTom won't work in Karazhan.
But I know navigating Karazhan can be quite daunting, so I resorted to pasting maps with a single marker on them.

Using your Idol of Ohn'ahra, you have to find 4 Ancient Tome in a specific order, the last of which is Tyr's Legacy. All 4 tomes are in bookcases; ignore those lying on the floor.

If you are a mage don't forget mana feeders are immune to us so to get to the 4th book I had to beat them to death with my staff!

In a A Special Book you're looking for a tome called Tyr's Legacy in the Guardian's Library in the old Karazhan instance in Deadwind Pass in the Eastern Kingdoms. But it seems Tyr's Legacy has been reshelved -- several times. You'll receive clues in books that tell you where to look next -- using Cogs-Bolts coordinates. Every book you find will be in a different color. Reset the Cogs-Bolts coordinates each time you find a book.

If you check page 2 of the Kirin Tor Contact's Note, you'll see a list of each location you've been to -- provided the location matches the clue.

Karazhan

Enter the dungeon. You'll overpower everything easily.
Check the drop-down menu for locations in the instance. The Guardian's Library is pretty far down the list.

Equipment
When you reach the Guardian's Library, equip Tricked-Out Thinking Cap and Idol of Ohn'ahra. The Torch of Pyrreth is optional.

Using the Cogs-Bolts Coordinates to find books

Equip the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap and reset it to (0, 0) Cogs-Bolts while standing in the middle of a diamond floor pattern at the entrance platform to the Guardian's Library.
Move around the Library until your coordinates match the coordinates in a clue. This is a very good place to use the Cogs-Bolts system because you don't have to impose a directional grid on the coordinates. And there no mobs that matter and no line of sight issues.
The Idol of Ohn'ahra will cast a blue beam that will point you in the right direction. But I found the coordinates were more accurate.
When you reach the coordinates in a clue, one volume will be in color and you'll see a hand when you mouse over it. Click on the book and you'll see a very large magnifying glass.
Reset coordinates to (0, 0) each time you find a book.
Don't bother with the books on the floor, they provide dungeon buffs.

2	A note inside the Blue tome reads, "Reshelved Tyr's Legacy in the titan section (3, 6)."	Reset the Cogs-Bolts coordinates.	Red tome
3	A note inside the Red tome reads, "Reshelved Tyr's Legacy in the Guardian's of Tirisfal section (8, -14)."	Reset the Cogs-Bolts coordinates.	Green tome
4	A note inside the Green tome reads, "This must stay with the other records of the Dragon Isles. However it should be shelved under U for it's original name of Uldorus, not Tyrhold (-11, 7)."	I found the book at (-11, 6). If you can't find Tyr's Legacy, check page 2 of the Kirin Tor Contact's Note. If it lists the coordinates for three books, return to the last pair of coordinates and reset the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap.	Green and white tome lying on it's side. This is the actual book, Tyr's Legacy.
The first three books remain interactive. Each book has a different color. You don't want to click on the same book twice or you'll be sent to a reshelving location you've already been to. To reset Cogs-Bolts coordinates, turn off the buff for the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap at the top right of the screen. Re-equip the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap. Do this everytime you find a tome. You'll see the coordinates in yellow at the top middle of the screen.

If the Mana Feeders are keeping you from pickiing up Tyr's Legacy, I took my wand off and put in in my bag and punched them to death.

I thought I was stuck on this as my quest read as false, but once you have the Kirin Tor Contract Notes you'll have handed in the quest and can complete the Karazhan portion
