I'm confused. Time travel or not, how did Llane Wrynn show up in Azure Span? Is there any history of Llane ever visiting the Dragon Isles, since they were lost during his entire life?

This was such an epic quest. I can't describe how good. It reminded me of all the most well designed and immersive experiences of my life. Oh wait, I am thinking about the other games I was playing while waiting for gnolls to spawn.

As of March 24th, 2024, if you see this quest pop up, if you don't have some time to camp in a cave, don't bother with it.

It seems that the cave has three phases - one with bears, one with gnolls, and one with nothing but the Matriarch (because the game is confused where to put you). I waited a good 15 minutes to happen to get phased into a cave where the gnolls were spawning in. Until that point, I killed one gnoll, and nothing else beyond the Matriarch was even visible. The bears were briefly visible when I got pushed to a new phase at one point.

So something is very wrong here in this cave, and it's not helped by the fact that everybody is going back to do old content now. When I got in the cave (Sunday morning) there must have been a dozen players waiting to kill the 8 gnolls for the quest. I could tell I got phased once, then I think I must have got phased a second time because suddenly, I was able to run around tag 7 more gnolls to complete my quest finally.

Clearly this quest is a reference to the old vanilla quest where you kill gnolls in Elwynn Forest, and end up waiting 30 minutes for them to respawn.

Oh, wait. The respawn times were actually faster in that quest.

If you came here to do this in season 4 of DF, maybe keep the matriarch 'dead' so the other gnolls actually spawn.
Went in, saw other people just 'camping' the lesser gnolls, decided to kill the boss more times and soon after each kill a 'wave' of lesser gnolls would spawn. Could be an issue with the phasing, because we could just stand there for quite some time waiting for them to spawn alone.

Absolutely terrible, just skip it, takes 30 min for 1 mob to respawn, you need 8.

This may not be considered the "most useful" type of comment but hopefully ends up helping at least once.

I had no issues with this quest with WM on, smaller US-side server/shard cluster, about 5pm central North American time. I walked into the cave, saw bears, got phased into an empty cave full of the mobs needed & the Matriarch at the end. Got it done quick.

Main character that had all quest lines in all DF zones completed.

The mobs for this quest seem to be in their own phase inside the cave, and may be sharing spawns with the Shortcoat Bears that are in the cave normally? What a bizarre quests

Description

I was fighting off a pack of vicious gnolls who were threatening my prince when there was a flash of light. Suddenly, I was in this strange place and the prince was gone! It must have been that dastardly Matriarch Bluepelt. Please, find Prince Wrynn and give those gnolls what for!
