Go down the nearby steps to the little dragon. There's very little to no steering or navigation up and down. Use your right and left mouse buttons. Also you have to get close to the targets. Targeting doesn't work, but the good news is you only have to be close.

Turn in is with Majordomo Selistra Majordomo Selistra on a ledge down the cliff-side at /way #13644 59.9 67.8 Majordomo Selistra.

Easy to miss as the in-game tracker is misleading as of the current beta build.

As of the most recent patch (10/11) you must choose the red whelp or you won't get completion credit.

On live, the enemies didn't load to my screen immediately. So yes, fly into that round downwards area in front of you. The mobs are everywhere on the walls, Intrusive Pupstingers are also flying in the air across the area there. If you see no enemies, just fly around patiently for a while for them to load or respawn.

Hi all

I present You Storyline In Defense of Life. This Storyline is part of Waking Hope which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Storyline in order I done it:

1. For the Benefit of the Queen - Speak with Majordomo Selistra 55 30.9 then He will take you to Queen 62.3 72.9 , You need to speak with Her and Movie will start
2a. The Mandate of the Red - Speak with 4 NPC in order: 60.7 74 Xius, 59.4 72.4 Akxall, 61.5 68.7 Mother Elion and 62.7 70.4 Zahkrana. Don't do Training Wings Pick it up but go first to do Dragonriding.
2b. Dragonriding - Speak with Lord Andestrasz to get Your DRAGON MOUNT ! After conversation You will get Renewed Proto-Drake and learn Dragonriding. Now every time You use Renewed Proto-Drake Dragonriding will be activated.
4. How to Glide with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. When You press jump button You will fly up, Skill 1 Is going fast forward and ect. FROM THIS QUEST IS START GUIDE HOW TO USE DRAGONS FLY.
5. How to Dive with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. Reward Bronze Timepiece
6. How to Use Momentum with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. Reward Bronze Timepiece
7. The Skytop Observatory - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 75.1 55 and speak with Lord Andestrasz.
8. A New Set of Horns - Use Rostrum of Transformation 74 58.1 is a platform on ground big but i did not see at start xD. Reward Rostrum Cipher Now You can costomize Your Dragon.
9. Skyriding Talents and You - Collect Dragon Glyph 74.3 57.5 is over ground then speak with Lithragosa ( 2nd option ) to open dragon skills now you can learn new skill. After all speak with Celormu.
10. Return to the Ruby Lifeshrine - Fly to Queen Alexstrasza the Life-Binder 62.3 72.9.
11. Training Wings - Now You can go back to this Quest. Use Ruby Whelpling to Kill: 12 Agitated Weedling, 6 Intrusive Pupstinger and 1 Relentless Gust. I use instant kill 1 for killing and skill 2 to move lower lever to get to other mobs.
12. Who Brought the Ruckus? - Follow Alexstrasza the Life-Binder to 59.6 72.5 Movie will start.
13. The Primary Threat - Fly to Commander Lethanak 59.4 75.9
14. Basalt Assault - Slay 4 Enraged Cliff 59.2 78.2 , 60.9 77.7 , 57.7 76.3 are 2 of them. During this Quest You can do Clear the Battlefield auto Quest.
15a. Egg Evac - Rescue 4 eggs: Azure Egg 57.3 83.2, Bronze Egg 56.1 81.2, Ruby Egg 55 81, Emerald Egg 55.3 83.2
15b. Proto-Fight - Kill 3 Elite Proto-dragons use Ruby Spear for pull and extra dmg to kill them fast.
17. Cut Off the Head - Kill Jadzigeth 53.5 83.4 Use Ruby Spear to do it fast then Movie will start.
18. Exeunt, Triumphant - Fly to 46.1 78.3 and speak with Majordomo Selistra Video will start, Storyline will finish after that.

Main Rewards During This Storyline are: Renewed Proto-Drake, learn using Dragons Skills and Costomize them, As well You will Get Renewed Proto-Drake: Spined Tail, Renewed Proto-Drake: Subtle Horns, Renewed Proto-Drake: Finned Crest, Renewed Proto-Drake: Curved Horns.

For those having trouble with this quest: 3 is a DoT, 1 is damage and 2 is GTFO quickly. Some are saying in the comments that you can't target the mobs, but I was able to target them with my hotkey, so maybe it has been fixed? The other comments about having to get in very close though are correct. You have to kill 12 flowers, 6 wasps and 1 Relentless Gust (which is where you'll need to use 3 and 1 because he's not a one-shot). The Relentless Gust looks like an elemental if you're having trouble finding him.

You can 1 shot other players while on this quest and the guards can't hurt you. However as the warrior camping me and 4 others found out, if we are on the quest and can get to the whelpling we can also kill the exploiter in seconds.

Completely unique and quite possibly an interesting amount of oversight, if you do this quest with war mode on and there are players of the opposing faction around you can use your whelpling to kill them. The whelping does an insane amount of damage shooting for roughly 150k-300k scaling with player level. With a half second cd you can pretty much obliterate anyone around who isn't paying attention.

I haven't noticed until today, and thought i could come here and share what i have learned.
Normally, i was just flying around, targeting, getting closer, then use button 1.
Today i just flew around, using 2 to move faster, and 1 when i was near the mobs, without having to target. Took me less than 1 min to finish it, including the big mob who requires a few casts.

Was browsing through my professions in Ruby Lifeshrine with WM on when I noticed I suddenly got killed. I was very confused how I died and saw that it was by an ability called Burning Bark. Just learned about it 1 shotting players through this quest. Pretty amusing!

Does anyone else get weirdly motion sick when doing this quest? I dread it on all my alts. Just wondering if I'm crazy. I hardly ever get motion sick.

seems to ba a "mess with other players" quest now. I don't know the finer points of targeting from afar. And as i lumber about, every time I get near a target, another player from above zaps it. Frustrating AF.

The quest giver is hidden if you began the Whelpling Daycare questline. Complete the questline until it tells you go to back to Valdrakken, then you should see the quest giver again.

I somehow got stuck on this quest, it showed up in my quest log as the next quest to continue the campaign and it was marked on my map, but the NPC wasn't offering the quest. I tried relogging, re-zoning, flying back and forth, nothing worked. Until I went back to the Skytop Observatory and came in flying using dragonriding into the Ruby Lifeshrine, it seem to have triggered the NPC to start their script talking and then offered the quest.

My friend got stuck and couldnt find this quest anywhere. After several tries of us flying around from skytop to life shrine we finally figured it out. His quest tracking was turned off. We turned it back on and he was able to see a quest at the ruby life pools. But the quest giver is named Amelia, located kinda near the stable master and on the other side of the path. She had the quest called Training wings (not Alexstraza or Majordomo Selistra). I hope this helps anyone else looking for the quest.

Hmm, the quest says "Ruby Whelpling Chosen" implying there is more than one available to choose from, but there is not. Interesting text choices yet again Blizzard..

There are three options to choose from. No point in choosing the latter two. Just sit tight, and spam attack in every direction. This quest completes itself pretty much
