Quest feels a little buggy, Starflys that you have captured and respawned can not be recaptured. You have to patrol the entire quest area for 15 unique starflys.

Yes I totally have 30 min time daily to catch stupid butterflies. What an idiotic filler quest blizzard.

A target macro on a button is your best friend! Be sure to have the target icon enabled on your minimap.

/tar glittering starfly

But you don't have to. They are really sparkly and easily visible. It just makes it a bit faster doing this quest, while you ride around doing the other dailies in Ardenweald.

Very easy with /tar glittering starfly macro... And if it's to long just skip it, you don't need to do every single daily..no time, no gain.. and people complaining if you really want to accomplish something find ways to make stuff easier and simpler...

Best area is just below Heart of the Forest, the whole blue circle, around /way 47 64
No annoying hostile mobs in the area, just a bunch of glitterflies, I was done very quickly.

There are two types of glowing moths. One can not be clicked and one can be.

I found a macro and just changed the name to glittering starfly.
The Macro will place a marker on the starfly head and make a sound.

This macro made this quest 5mins.

This comment only applies to characters who've done the Night Fae campaign:

Be careful on one starfly south of Glitterfall Basin in the foothills, it may sometimes path into Bwonsamdi's Portal to the Necropolis (clickable even if you beat the chapter associated with it) and you will teleport to Nazmir, with no way out but to Hearthstone out. (there is no portal back to Ardenweald.)

This has happened to me before.

This quest pretty much sums up this expansion.

- About double the amount they should have made it for (which seems to be their entire quest design methodology)
- And buggy as hell since you see all these star flies that you can't get twice. Getting from 13 to 15 took me forever!

The macros previously posted are a great solution for finding and targeting these, but for locating them visually the Inky Black potions from the Darkmoon Faire (or the AH when the Faire isn't up) not only make them stand out clearly from the surrounding environment, the potion also makes Ardenweald look fantastic.

Careful doing these. I did this and Return Those Animacones! Completed animacones, not handed in and had 1 more starfly. Could see but not capture the starflies so I relogged. Both quests gone, hade to channel anima again and could pick up the same quests but my previous 30 min spent on these had not been transferred. I suppose I hit bad luck having the anima channel drop at just that particular moment but still very tedious quests. As a sane person I didn't redo them :)

Around Highland Path are several that cant be caught. Mouseover to make sure you can get it before wasting time.

This quest bugged out on me after catching 11 of the 13. It wouldn't give me the capture "hand". /reload didn't help. I was able to finish by going to one of the other areas for this quest.

Description

I require your aid on a... delicate matter, <name>. Starfly Wings form a vital ingredient for some of our creations and our supply is exhausted. They are tiny things, very fragile, and I am ill able to handle them delicately. Could you obtain the Starflies for me? They must be caught alive in order for their wings to not spoil and we desperately need them. I'll ensure that you are compensated for your time, of course.
