To get the battleship plans, you need to purchase them from Vindicator Krethos in Lion's Watch. You will need to be honored with Hand of the Prophet and pay 550 gold for the plans.

As far as I can tell, there's no follup-up. Which means, those who have zero interest in going on with the Naval missions, can just abandon the quest and save 550 gold.

"I sunk your battleship" is a spin-off of one the board game coin-phrases of the 70's; most notably this ancient commercial from Milton-Bradley. This game has a history that goes way back.

Here's what I found out about it...
Battleship
The naval warfare-type guessing game was devised in the early 1900s by Clifford Von Wickler. Called Salvo in 1931, the game originally was played with paper and pencils. Milton Bradley Co. released the game as Broadsides: The Game of Naval Strategy in 1943 and as Battleship in 1967, when plastic grid boards, ships and pegs were introduced so players could easily record hits and misses. During the game, two players secretly arrange a fleet of 10 ships—aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, submarines and destroyers—on the lettered and numbered grids. Players take turns targeting their opponent’s fleet by guessing coordinates where the hidden ships are positioned. The battle ends when one player’s entire fleet is sunk.

Isn't this quest title a reference to a text line in the song The Bad Touch by Bloodhound Gang from the 90s? However in the middle of the song the lyrics goes like this at one point : "So if I capsize on your thighs high tide, B-5 you sunk my battleship"

*Edit: It would seem not many remember (or are able to remember) the 1970's-early 80's games like Battleship. A real pity.

As of Patch 6.2 you need to be Friendly with the Hand of the Prophet instead of Honored to purchase the Ship Blueprint: Battleship from Vindicator Krethos. The blueprint is 522g and 50s at Friendly.

So.. I have to buy the blueprint "from" Krethos for about 500g... and then 2 seconds later, turn in the quest to the same guy.. and he hands over a little over 1g as a reward from "buying" the blueprints from him.. my head spins.

hm, that is strange.. I am friendly with them and it's still listed as 522g as of 12/18/15

The quest requirements still list "Earn Honored Faction with Hand of the Prophet" instead of friendly.

Horde can purchase the Ship Blueprint: Battleship from Shadow Hunter Denjai at Vol'mar hold in Tanaan Jungle. 520g 50s at the current date. Requires friendly with Vol'jin's Headhunters . You hand the quest in to Shadow Hunter Denjai, so don't be shy about learning it immediately, because he's right there.

Vindicator Krethos can be found in the Tanaan Jungle at Lion's Watch. In order to purchase the Ship Blueprint: Battleship you will need a FRIENDLY standing (NOT REVERED) with the Hand of the Prophet and 522g 50s. Hope this helps ^_^

Alliance can buy the plan from Krethos. He's standing to the right of the Planning Table in Lion's Den, Tanaan Jungle.

Description
