u have to talk to the soldiers north of the quest giver the other ones wont work

You have to talk to the soldiers who are fighting the mobs (North). However, you have to kill the mob, putting the soldier out of combat to talk to him/her.

In my experience, the trolls are more powerful than the Argent Crusade soldiers, and will kill them if you don't help.

It's not enough that you have to go in and tell them that they're leaving a combat zone. Oh no. You also have to save each and everyone one of their asses from at least one mob.

And what do you get for it? More work!

You Can not Talk with them when they are in combat, only when they killed the troll that's attacking him, i recommend you to do http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12508 while ur doing this quest :)

This quest tasks you to order ten soldiers to report back to the Sergeant. You'll note, on picking up the quest, there's a handful of these NPCs surrounding the quest-givers. You cannot by any means interact with them to order them to leave.

To get quest credit, you need to get closer to the Altar of Sseratus to the north and kill trolls that are attacking the NPCs, and when combat drops, you'll be given a dialogue option to dismiss them.

Sergeant Stackhammer at the Altar of Sseratus wants you to speak with 10 of his Argent Soldiers and tell them to report back to him.

<The sergeant quickly reads through the orders you've handed him, a frown coming over his face.>

Look, <lad/lass>, I'd love to just up and leave, but take a look out there. All of my people are fighting.

Tell you what, you've come this far, you think you're up to doing me a small favor? Head out there and round up my soldiers?

Tell 'em that the sergeant orders them to report back immediately. Lend them a hand if you will.
