I really wish it was easier to follow the story of Overwatch. I mean, in game you're just fighting other players. The stories and videos I've watched make it look like the heroes we play as are actually out there fighting other enemies. It's really confusing. Is there a guide to understanding Overwatch lore that I can read? I have no clue how to follow any of this, it all feels very disconnected.Comment by Nulgar

I have the urge to shill the Overwatch Gamepedia that I used to work on a lot back in the day, but I haven't seen it in almost a year by now and I honestly don't know how it still fares.
Other than that, there's a bio for every hero on the main website and about fifteen on-line comics. There are the cinematics, too, I guess, but they never really tell any substantial story and are quite obviously released mostly to "show something cool".
Keep also in mind that there's barely any consistent chronology to the storytelling, anything you'll find are events from random points in the timeline.
