Okay, if it is true that they're just taunting us with semi-familiar boss forms and not saying "hey we were literally these characters" then that is a good save. It would make zero sense for some of those bosses to be dreadlords.
Christ, so many people are to quick to jump to conclusions. It's a fun thing they put in the game, it doesn't mean they've retconned earlier expansions. Everyone wants to be part of the discussion, and are so eager to jump on the bandwagon of the week. Pathetic.
Honestly, this makes sense for Dreadlords - they are supposed to be masters of deception, mimicry, sabotage and infiltration, as well as peddlers of lies and half-truths to further spread suspicion and discord. Were they all these characters? Probably not, could they have been some of them at some points? Yes, which points? No idea, did they manipulate some of these characters and manipulate their family and friends behind their backs? Possibly, are they just messing with us? Most definitely. These are Dreadlords, you can trust none of what they do, you can't even trust they don't know you're watching them as they transform, they might be doing it on purpose to get you to second-guess yourself, heck are they even dead by the end of the raid or did they just fake it and deceived you?Hard to kill, like roaches that can disguise themselves as butterflies
It is a bit of a pity they didn't include one turning in Jaina. Would've been a double benefit, acknowledge a silly old community meme but also show that the whole thing isn't supposed to be taken literally. But yeah, even IF the dreadlords actually imitated these characters (which is unlikely, given they seem to just be using the Transmorpher Beacon code since they're turning into the same people) that doesn't necessarily mean they were instrumental in the plots of those characters. We were impersonated to give false orders for like 10 minutes. I could easily see dreadlords pretending to be characters like this for a couple hours just to steal secrets and information, not literally guide the activities of the Twilight's Hammer for the entirety of Cataclysm.
Very cool
Would be more interesting if they impersonated a few major NPCs rather than some random bosses..
> Disguise herself as Demon Hunter trainer> Trains Illidari about inflitration> Never get caught by Spectral SightOk. Seems pretty legit.
Well, I think this was before
But then if you know that DH can sense Demons, like Warlocks Paladins and Hunters, why still pushing this knowing it will be contradicted by the game itself?Ok could be a ultra disguise form but then it will be just a bull#$%^ ( not referring to you ) but the fact that when you beat a disguise Dreadlord he/she turn back to the original form.I can get the idea of putting Dreadlords along the previous expac/lore just to show how deceitful they are but after the Jailer @#$%show is just getting worse and worse.
This is definitely one of the most bizarre non story outrages I've seen in ages. The first time in WoW we learn someone is secretly a dreadlord is in stratholme live side in vanilla, they pop up again and again betraying and lying and imitating people for long or short periods over the course of the next decade +And now in Shadowlands we learn that they've imitated at some point or another a bunch of notable but not super important characters - and the reaction is so absurdly out of proportion you'd think they'd said Arthas was a dreadlord all along or some such nonsense.WoW players have a real issue with reacting rationally to this game they love to hate to love to hate to love
I wished Kin'tessa would have turned into Jaina before the battle just to reference the jaina is a dreadlord meme, as heroes of the storm did already with one of the jaina skins.I also wished mal'ganis would have turned into a turtle, a reference to a hearthstone meme, already referenced by heroes of the storm too.
