I am trying to wait to judge this, but addons like that allow our group of VARYING skill levels to accomplish the goals we set. I feel like this may be a backslide for more than 80% of the population. You are worried about 1%ers. You clarify MYTHIC raiding. Here's the fix. TOURNAMENT REALMS. Leave the rest of the game alone and force the 1%ers who want to tournament play on level ground without splits. Without the drama. Without the weeks and weeks of grinding. We like watching it, but geez. You keep changing the game based on what the 1%ers do. There is 99% of the rest of us. Maybe pay attention to what makes their lives easier.Because assigning holes on the jailer made an insane fight easier.
This should just create a bit more emphasis on comms? I imagine things like bombs on raz being marked Left/Center/Right might be a goner, same with Terros Left/Right pillars (for heroic only) Weakaura is also threatened. I think this is mainly the things they are targeting, it should be a player/communcation decision who goes left/right/back/forward and not solved by addons.
Sounds like a great way to remove a lot of accessibility and introduce issues for a made up problem. Not a fan.
I don't really know what these private auras will entail. An example of something we currently interact with that will go private would help me understand the Dev Teams intent better. But if we are just talking encounter buffs/debuffs.... as long as I can customize how they are displayed. Size, stacks, duration, color, ect. I think this is a good change. Having an addon auto solve a mechanic (the most egregious example being Lords of Dread) is kinda boring but also it's a really effective tool when you are looking to progress on a challenging encounter. It removes human error.
Sorry to disappoint the anti addon/FF people but this restriction is only ganna apply to the most degen auras. People will still have their tell me when I'm standing in bad, and complex UIs and all that. Blizzard in general and historically embraces the addons. as they should. I for one enjoy having options and setting up UIs that work for me.
Now those mythic raiders will have to actually play the game instead of waiting for an addon to tell them what to do.
They'll make things hidden/hard to see and yet we'll have the same 0.5s to react we've nowadays.Mark my words.
I"m all for simpler fights that don't require 5 WAs
On one hand, this is good because it lets them do interesting mechanics that aren't just bypassed by addonson the other, this could be a huge blow against accessibility for those with a disability.

Addons like WeakAuras should have been banned or have their abilities severely limited to class assistance. Ive always felt that WeakAuras was cheating since it can pretty much automate how you do the fight. It may not be moving the character for you, but it might as well.Bet you anything these Mythic Raiders that rely heavily on WeakAuras and similar addons for the races probably couldnt do the fight without them. Wouldn't mind watching a race where they're not allowed to use addons at all. That'll be interesting for sure. :)
People are terrible even with weakauras and addons. Imagine without them.
