Hey community --Please don't use this as a cheat sheet to be rude or give people $%^& if they don't formulaically follow these recommendations. Not everyone plays the same way and some covenants might be better for different people for all kinds of reasons - it doesn't make someone a scrub or bad for going against the meta as defined here.Just be nice, it's a game let people have fun.
Why can't we - the players - decide what is best for us?I am tired of seeing things like "You must be X to be OP! Otherwise you suck ass!"People should choose what they like, and be whoever they want to be in this situation. Forcing others to do this and that to just have a 1% advantage over others is unhealthy and creates uneccesary elitism and toxicity in the game. Not to mention that people who are more into PvP scenarios will be simply going for that one covenant which will make them win 100% of the time, making 90% of the PvP matches a copy/paste scenarios where you see same boring deals and strategies. At times like these I am really wondering where is the fantasy in the game anymore? Some class changes made in the pre-patch are really nice indeed, but again problem will come when you do not have the right soulbind, you chose the covenant you shouldn't according to Icy Veins/Wowhead/Discordclasschannel, when you see only 2 OP legendaries out of 10, while others are boring or suck ass, or your talent build is ugly. This shouldn't be the case.Everyone wants to be at their best when playing their specialization. Everyone in this case should find their own path and feel on their own they are doing great, that the choices they made are satisfactory to them. Because this is still a game, a role-playing game in fact, and the point is to give people a choice and let them follow it. Allow people to have fun on their own terms.
People be like "There is NO CHOICE in this expansion"... after following 10-100 guides of what to pick ... LOL
i'm pretty sure you can run 15s with a necrolord ret pali or a venthir hunter. i think modern wow is still more about the player and less about covenant power. a good night fae holy pali is certainly better than a bad kyrian one for example. just pick what you want and have fun.
The movement bonus from Night Fae can be extremely handy. Ignore comments like this, find what you will enjoy the most. No good doing 3% more dps if you hate your covenant and gameplay choices.I've actually played Beta and I'm not basing opinions on forum posts xD
I want to see full rankings and percentage points, not just "this is best". If two of them are close, I want to know so I can pick the one I like better without fearing that I'm gimping myself.
I hate this whole feature of choosing covenants for special abilities. The choice should've been entirely based on looks and Lore.Wanted my forsaken affliction lock to go Necrolords because I felt like it, and WoWHead tells me it's "unplayable" compared to other combos. Kyrian/Night Fae would be the exact opposite of what I wanted for that character. So either I go against the wind and deep-down, I'll feel like I chose poorly, or I just don't play that character until Blizzard re-balances this BS.IMO, there shouldn't be any "bad / poor / underwhelming / unplayable" choices. Worst-case-scenario, there should be "average" options! How the hell is it even possible for Night Fae to dominate this much in the DPS category and Kyrian in the Tanks category, after 8 months of beta?
I wish there was a 3rd column that showed best for questing in the world - most of my alts won't be doing raiding OR mythic+.
