Accessibility Updates Coming to Grimrail Depot and Maw of Souls Coming in Patch 9.2.5

Greetings!

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. Motion sickness was a concern when we first talked about the possibility of Grimrail becoming a Mythic+ dungeon. Fortunately, one of our designers came up with a clever solution which he was happy to share in the video below:

As mentioned in the video this is currently a one-off solution for places we’ve identified motion sickness as a concern due to background motion, but we hope it’s helpful for those affected and we’ll keep an eye out for any other places where it might be applicable.

Speaking as a software engineer (though not in gaming), I suspect it's a time to implement issue. The problem with the dungeons isn't so much with how things are rendered (colors for example), but rather the motion of the models themselves. The item looks like it just spawns a box around the play area that prevents you from seeing the moving skybox, which is probably a much faster to implement solution since items can already spawn objects in the world whereas all the settings cvars only control UI elements (at least that I'm aware of).

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see it become a setting option at some point though.Comment by HadorielVery happy for this change! The first time I did Maw of Souls, I remember being really surprised because it was the first and only time I'd ever experienced motion sickness. Luckily I was able to figure out (after a few tries) that if I focused, mindfully, on the mobs and turned my camera slightly downward, it wouldn't affect me anymore
I'm sure if I looked out at the ocean in that dungeon again, I'd start getting sick to my stomach, though! Accessibility options are always a positive addition. Although, a potion is a little more annoying than a toggle option from the NPC.
