Hmm what is more concerning is the fact that Blade Dance is being nerfed from a 9 second CD to 15 second, so a double whammy, which seems to have slipped under the radar! It will make the rotation feel worse and also affect single target damage.
Now I haven't looked into the new dungeons, raids or open-world events... but aren't Blizzard shooting themselves in the foot if they want encounters with a high number of mobs? "Oh look, this boss isn't hard enough on Heroic/Mythic. Let's throw in 20-30 mobs to rush the players all at once!" *tanks target capped between 5-8* - "F%#¤&6€{£!" - *DPS classes randomly die since tanks can't aggro enough due to target cap*.I'm all for change. I mean, if WoW hadn't changed from Vanilla (except new expansion content) let's face it, it'd be a pretty boring game right about now... but yeah, this change does seem a bit odd. If everything is being simplified, why aren't all classes being treated equally? Why do some have a target cap of 5 and others of 8? Will there be AoE abilities that still can hit all targets within a certain range? And if yes, will these be evenly distributed among all classes, so that none are left behind?I get it that it's impossible to balance every class and spec, but it would honestly suck if certain classes or specs were the "only" ones able (or being picked) to do certain content. Imagine if only warrior tanks were selected for Mythic+ (I know they're currenly performning best, but others are usable!) or only resto druids for the current raid tier. Why even play the other classes if you can't play the content you want, simply because your class design/mechanics were "bad" for the encounter? And if you can't play the class/spec you want, you're not necessarily having fun... and if you aren't having fun playing the game, why even play it?All I'm saying is, for the love of Al'Akir, please think this through before implementing a change that could impact the entire end-game experience for everyone. I get that some classes have and/or need specific tools in their arsenal. Take rogue with Shroud of Concealment, just to set an example - You don't currently see 3 melee classes with the same cloaking ability where only 1 being selected over the others because it's the ONLY one of the three who can cloak a whole party or raid group instead of 3 players (including themselves).I mainly play Fury warrior. I'm used to the target-cap of 5. I have 2 abilities which can hit a higher number of targets: Bladestorm or Dragons Roar (depending on talent choice) and if I pick an AoE essence (like Blood of the Enemy). In other words, all my "major" AoE damage comes from abilities with CDs. If that remains the same, where only major CDs can hit more than 5-8 targets, wouldn't that counter what Blizzard are trying to do with big pulls? Running a M+ dungeon, tank would just pull a huge group and every DPS would just unleash all their CDs to nuke everything down anyway. Then run to next group, wait for CDs to be back up, rinse and repeat.Just my 2 cents :)
Based on what I'm reading, these look like almost all physical DPS abilities. Perhaps this is some sort of experiment to 'balance' physical DPS and casters in AoE situations?
No. Just no. DO NOT DO THIS! This is going to be a huge mistake and I can't even fathom WHY would you even consider such a change? Is this once again a thing that would be implied to please the casual society? The ones who have no clue how to use their abilities and how to utilize them? You are single-handedly going to DESTROY a large part of enjoyment in M+ and some raids. You are going to tell me we aren't going to have big add fights in raids in Shadowlands? You are telling me you want to abolish your MDI scenery with this move? There would be no 3 chested 19s anymore, no big pumper numbers in raids? Don't get me wrong, numbers aren't anything, but this target capping is absolutely ridiculous...Also what the hell would happen to unholy death knights? Their whole PURPOSE was to be an onslaught machine for a massive pull, their whole spec would become useless if target capped. And if they are the only spec that remains uncapped, that would convert into 90% of playerbase playing unholy dks...
This is just dumb as hell. Fun police strikes again
Despite all the art and story I strongly think that Shadowlands will not be worth my money
This was the worst possible thing they could have done to Glimmer of Light. Putting it in that row and replacing it with the most important talent to make Glimmer viable? As is stands now the Beacon of Faith looks like a much better choice raiding wise and Virtue is still the best option for dungeons/mythic+
Love it
I don't understand why people dislike this...It makes the game more challenging and encourages playing with other people. Setting an 8 enemy cap is actually a unique design to the game. I'm assuming Blizzard will have an unlimited cap - and Warlocks, too. (Rain of fire) Instead of throwing a hissy fit - why don't we wait to see how it feels in Alpha and Beta - This is certainly one of those changes that can be easily undone. (i.e. The entire game isn't based around this) I think this change is to justify making abilities do MORE damage and flattening your curve of damage in your AOE rotation. Anyone here saying this is a "dumb" change without knowing the changes they'll make to creatures and mobs in dungeons + raids (making them stronger - and more impactful) is just lacking a few brain cells.
world of primates
Well see you all in 2 expansions
Are you sure about that? Blizz, you're preparing for us such a great datadisk and now you just want to ruin it with this change? My decision about buying Shadowland has been just decreased by 80%.
