lol to much qq in comments.
Another issue my guild has found is not being able to filer people based on their last logged on time. As an Officer of the guild, it is sometimes helpful to know the last time someone logged on and have it be a filterable option as opposed to clicking each person individually or being required to do /guildroster. If they want us to use communities, then it should include all options we had previously PLUS more, not less.
Just want to chime in and say that I don't like the Guildui either. It's awful. As a GM, I now have even LESS control over who can do what. This is especially annoying since more than once over the 9 years I've been a GM some guild member with high level access to the bank would rip us off before just before /gquit. When you approach Blizzard support about it their response is always "it was your decision how much freedom with permissions you gave, so there is nothing we can do. You'll need to be more careful in the future." With the way it is set up now, it's basically all or nothing, locked down tight or a free for all. It's also big and bulky and needs more tabs so it can be smaller. Communities are different than guilds, please give them their own tabs. I also miss the sorting of the roster options. I used to it drop characters into a "no access" rank after 1 month of absence and remove from guild after 1 year. As it is now, managing the same task is going to be near impossible.I can't think of one compliment for it. It is a complete downgrade imo.
What I want to know is why they removed the character you're playing from your view of the roster. I now know you can bring up the old guild window with /guildroster but if I didn't then how would I be able to affect things like my own notes? It also doesn't count your character in the online player number either (even if getting the true number is as simple as adding a 1).
Seeing as how EU and US can not interact via cross realm and you can't invite to groups I don't see the problem. EU has an entirely different battlenet server and forums as well. If you want to play while talking to an EU friend or you are EU wanting to talk to US get Discord, Teamspeak, Vent, Mumble...use an out of game source. Blizz shouldn't redesign all of that because of your community expectations. Communities are intended to work within your region of the world, NOT internationally connect every single WoW player in the world.
People who want communities to be by account instead of by character... why? Maybe an easier way to get your characters into communities other characters are on, but don't force me to (effectively) have ALL my characters in all the same communities. No.
Several of the complaints in this thread are about things that are actually in the new system. Please at least look around the new UI fully before making knee-jerk complain posts.
Impressive how Blizzard took an already bad system and made it even worse.Guilds were one of the last bastions of having to communicate with others. Do they just want the game to be one big LFR @#$% fiesta?
I don't think I ever want to be in a guild that would twist your words, or trick you into saying something, for the purpose of banning your account. In the current political climate, saying the priest class color is white can make you lose your account if some level 1 toon wants to freak out, go full SJW, and take you down. (once you go full SJW there's no coming back)I think guild chat is a good idea. These toxic kids, idk what you can do with them. It's a game. I would stay OUT of being in any guild chat, until the news reports the first 10 year old account assassination by a 9 yr old SJW that logs on for 2 hrs solely for the purpose of attacking players. "Oh, Yeah, I only play Final Fantasy, but I come over here once a day, and see if I can take down a veteran account." <---WTF?
Does anyone know how to turn off the saving of guild chats? This is painful

As someone who has had to use the guild interface a lot over the years, I am rather disappointed that what we have now is basically the same old functionality plus a lot more text and a couple of things we just don't need. What guilds need is the ability to handle ranks, bank tabs and privileges in a more fluid way that allows for alts of players of rank within the guild to be linked by their battleid to their alts and give them inherited privileges, a function which could also be toggled on and off by the GM or officers - essentially a better management tool that doesn't require creating superfluous ranks. The calendar is way overdue for a rethink too ..
