Random LOA appear in a large ghostly fashion, kinda behind you. They have you perform a brief attack of their powers. For example, I saw a tiger, maybe Sul raka. He attack with " Lynx", attacking fast, then vanish. I also saw a bear, and he buffed my Strength 122 Str. Finally, I saw a giant Pangolin, and thats all it said. No visual buff, but maybe it attacked for me. LOA appear pretty often, I do not see what actual damage caused in damage meter.

I believe you can get 3 buffs from this trinket

Bear: Gives main stat (strength/agi)
Lynx: Gives versatility and a smaller amount of speed, avoidance, and leech
Pangolin: Gives crit

Got ilvl 233 (Veteran 1/6) at level 90 as a Survival Hunter.

So far it has procced: 239 Primarystat or 568 Haste (about +13% at level 90).

Buffs can also proc back-to-back.

It kinda... sucks? I replaced my 220 use-toggle shield trinket, with this lost idolf of hashey (ilvl 269) and i've noticed no difference in 3 hours. Does it rarely ever proc or what's the deal here?

Well this has made getting trinkets for speed sets somewhat easier.

This can show up as a reward from WQs in every zone, as well as being a Delve chest and Prey/Weekly cache reward. However, this is only the case for certain classes despite the fact that all classes can use the stats from the proc. And the restriction isn't even consistent for melee classes/specs. Just appears completely random which classes/specs can and can't have it as a normal drop/reward.
Horde characters (of every class) can get it as a reward from The Elves are Going to War
Zah'ran, The vendor at the end of high level bountiful delves can also sell this but it appears to be very rare due to his large pool of gear options, as I've only seen it offered once (and sadly didn't have the Mana crystals to buy it at the time).
If you want it for your speed set on a class that can't normally drop it as a reward, when you check his stock at the end of the delve, be sure to change the filter selection to All Classes instead of your character's current class.
Finally managed to get it in hero version on my Warlock and Shaman for their speed sets from the delve vendor after running more delves than I can count on them.

I have two of these at item level 246 (warbound). One has 93 speed and the other one has has 134 speed on it. So, it probably rolled speed as an additional stat, but it's interesting that it's combined into the base speed instead of listed separately.

The text says "attacks and abilities", which would lead me to believe that this is a melee class trinket, but there's a shadow priest saying they got buffs from this, including tertiary stats, which no one else is reporting. Most of the comments are from melee players and they only report primary and secondary stat procs.

I tried an adventurer version of this trinket on my evoker on the target dummies in Silvermoon and managed to get one proc out of it after a few minutes, which isn't much. And I think it happened when I did a tail swipe (with no targets in range), which could imply that this does not proc from spells. It did give my evoker intelligence though... So, for now, I'm still saving the BoA champion trinkets for my paladin and rogue for when they hit 90.

Has three 30-second procs associated with it:

Bear: Primary Stat
Pangolin: Your Highest Secondary Stat Rating
Lynx: Your Lowest Secondary Stat Rating + additional Avoidance, Leech, and Speed Rating

Amount you gain is based on the item level of your trinket.

For example, at 230 ilvl, your buffs would be 232 Primary Stat or 557 Secondary Stat Rating (and 73 Tertiary stat rating with Lynx). This is about 10-12% secondary stat, which is pretty good for its level. The tradeoff is the complete lack of passive stats (aside from speed rating).

About 1 PPM, so while the buff is long, the downtime can be too.

A note about the speed part: 276 H track gives 110 speed, which is almost 10% by itself if you have no other +speed rating. Unfortunately, because of the change to speed enchants now using rating and not flat %s, you start suffering diminishing returns pretty quickly after 10%. As much as I am enjoying midnight, run speed feels like slogging through mud compared to TWW where 120% was pretty easy to get on any class (before class talents like Druid/Rogue/DH etc).

As of 12.1, the attached stats may be bugged.

282 ilvl 6/6 Adventurer - +165 speed
305 ilvl 5/6 Champion - +127 speed

Maybe the Adventurer piece proc'd Speed as a tertiary and combined with it?
