Unfortunately the footbomb spawn location is sometimes very far from you, or the mob. Not an easy trinket to maximise as a caster - the delve buff version of it seemed to spawn much nearer.

Did they nerf this? I see it popping out footbombs but they are not active and I cannot launch them.

This trinket may be currently broken (in a VERY good way).

I'm unsure what happened, but as of the 8/19 patch, I have been getting MANY footballs instead of the usual 2 at a time I've gotten previously. I had EIGHT BALLS spawn all at once in a delve today. https://imgur.com/a/u4cf0zu

Sadly more or less Useless for melee dps (and prob most ranged that cant move while casting) in M+ and most raid scenarios (Can see it slightly useful in delves and world content).
(only real use i can see is as a speed boost if u need / want that)

You will in most / all cases lose on your total dps while moving to the bombs since they spawn like they do...

Its a somewhat fun trinket, but it could be more useful and fun...

But this trinket needs to be reworked....

1. The bombs need to spawn closer to your character, preferably to your front/sides... If you look at the picture someone else here posted ( https://imgur.com/a/u4cf0zu ) you will see what i mean.
2. The time the bombs are up should be increased to 15 or 20 sec to better let you use/time them, and ofc. the spawn time of next set of bombs needs to not be affected if the current bombs are used or not (Have not yet tested this part out)
3. The trinket need a toggle function to change the bombs from what they now are (run close and they get punted, and a option where you use "interact" function... Esp. with the "Enable Interact Key" function in the UI)
4. You should also be able to enable a landmine function where it explodes if a enemy mob / player runs over a bomb, or it spawns under a enemy mob / player.

Don't get how this trinket can be on the "Trinket dps list" at all, since i don't see how u can realistically sim anything other then the main stat with any accuracy at all.

I feel Blizz has understood that moving to trigger the bombs Always will lead to dps loss, and the trinket is doomed to be a "Oof" trinket... So they have tried to compensate for this with making it always the tri-stat Speed on it....
(and this speed is a lot. I have a ilvl 671 trinket from Season 2 that has +745 Speed, and this trinket at ilvl 694 has +1805 Speed)

Also the speed increase needs to be like the speed increase on Elusive Blasphemite gem... In my case the +Speed on the trinket was Heavily eaten up by the DR on speed.

Got mine on 20/8-25 and in all my testing it Always just spawned 2x, Never any more like someone has posted here... check patch notes and hot-fix notes and could not find any mention of the trinket.

Also i feel the CD between spawns is to long.

Testing it out in the wild, it hits your current target 100% of the time as long as u are in combat with that target ( so u can change target before you "pop" it, and it has a Loong range.
When it comes to using it on target dummy's in the training areas on the other hand.... it NEVER hits the dummy your targeting, and almost 100% of the times goes to some dummy far away that you are Not in combat with...

Edit 2:
Tested it out on world Rares for a bit, just spamming Hamstring that does almost no dmg (it doesn't proc of auto attacks, and it procs so rare that i would kill even rares 2 times over before it procs under normal attacks)
(just normally going about my day killing mobs in the world, it has a high tendency to proc on my last attack that kills a mob, and since it has a spawn mechanic that takes like a sec or two... i almost feel its a intended troll from Blizz)

It is not effected at all from any of my class dmg modifiers... tooltip on my trinket says it should do 578054 dmg, It always hits for 613k -+2k and crits for 1235k +-4k Doesn't matter if I have any class modifiers on me or the target...

If i have Mastery: Deep Wounds bleed on the target, just used Warbreaker and Avater I should have +25% +30% +20% dmg increase, but the trinket bombs do exact same dmg +-2k as when i have no buffs/debuffs on me or target....
So there is no point lining up the pop of the bombs with buffs or debuffs (there isn't time for that anyways since they despawn in only 10s.)

Edit 3:

After testing out the trinket in various content for a few days, i'm still undecided on it... As a melee the bombs always spawn close to me, at the most 8 yards, and they spawn relative to me and not the target like screenshots have claimed, and thus the actual hit box size of the target doesn't matter.

At first it looked like the dmg of the bombs aren't effected by my dmg buffs/debuffs,,,, but i have had hits and crits that's been for 750k (hit) and 1500k (crits) while the text on trinket says 578k... Ive not pinpointed the reason for this increase... but its starting to look like the dmg of the bomb is set when it spawns/proc and not when you pop it.... = Using CDs after they spawn don't effect them, but if the buff is up when they spawn then the bomb dmg is effected...

Also there looks to not be a internal CD.... if so its very odd designed... Ive been fighting mobs/rares and world bosses in open world it takes long to proc, then long top proc again, but in m+ and raid bosses it seems to spawn often...
Problem in many boss scenarios, both M+ and Raid the bombs are almost impossible to see on ground due to ability and mechanics

For dps that can move whilst attacking this trinket seems great. If you have to stand and cast however, other trinkets would be better. The damage from each ball seems massive and most of the time spawn in a way where you can continue hitting whilst moving and kicking the ball.

Worthy of note aswell:
Allies can kick the footbombs aswell, however this adds to their dps not yours.
Regardless, it's a team game, and multiple of these in a group can skyrocket dps if you get lucky

Never mind, I was tricked.
The damage from the trinket isn't actually that great unless you're at a lower level, and allies can't kick it. Don't be fooled, like I was :(

For a hunter, this trink is... the bomb. *ahem* At least it is when it actually procs. It doesn't seem to be consistent and for some reason it will only proc just before the last shot of your target about 80% of the time. When using it on elites or old raid bosses, it rarely procs at all.

I'm still enjoying it because, as I said, when it does proc, it does massive damage and that's awesome.

The most important part of this trinket is that it always has Speed on it. It comes more than x2 the normal tertiary proc amount for a trinket slot, making it incredibly good for speed sets. A 678 (Adventurer 8/8) is an even 10% movement speed. That's huge for a single item.

BTW this is not as strong as the temporary buff version you can get in Delves - the delves one is MASSIVELY stronger and deletes mobs, dont neglect to pick them up in delves if you have the temp buff!

It would be nice if there was a weak aura for this. I find it hard to notice if there are a lot of ground effects that cover up the bombs.

I can't tell how good this actually is as I have been playing this expansion on absolute casual mode where I'll just complete the quests for each update and just cap the monthly traveler's log so I'm not really paying attention to damage numbers or doing any hard content at all.

What I CAN say is that this trinket is a lot of fun! I'd love more items with fun interactions like this instead of buffs procs. Or worse, buffs on activation.
