You'll want to look at Tenacity pets as they are meant to handle tanking duties best. Talented all Tenacity pets get Thunderstomp for AoE threat generation.

I'd suggest a bear as they get Swipe so they can generate better aoe threat.

I don't recall any having an actual AoE taunt but talenting Growl will let it keep threat better and then picking up Taunt will help them pick up a mob if you rip it off them.

This worked well for me leveling and using Misdirection after it was available really solidified threat to my bear.

There are no AoE taunts. However, all tenacity pets (including turtles) will have an AoE attack that will generate threat. They dont get this skill till level 33-40, though, I dont remember when, exactly. The skill is called "Thunderstomp"

Several pet families have specific family attacks that act as an AoE attack. The most famous of these are the Bear and the crosolisk.

The bear has "swipe" which will hit all targets in front of them. The croc has "bad attitude" which hits all targets around them--but has a longer cooldown than swipe. This means the pet will do it far less frequently.

Sporebats also attack multiple targets, but you dont have access to them for a while.

Bears are generally considered the best for holding aggro against multiple targets at low levels.
