They did think of ways to counter it, ie "Attuned to Nature". They just didn't make it powerful enough.

As for Flame Leviathan, I don't think it needs to be fixed at all.
When he's easier than the first boss in 10 man Naxx, something's wrong. If he's a raid boss and you can down him with less than a full
party
, something's wrong. He obviously needs to be fixed, whether it's a shorter enrage timer, hits harder on regular mode or even enrages because the start of the fight isn't initiated with a certain amount of vehicles.
I two manned-Heigan. Does that mean he needs to be "fixed"? Nope. Some boss encounters can be overcome by strategy/skill, not by sheer numbers.

Well then, there you go; add one. I've never had the fight last for a long enough duration to notice whether or not he had one.
I recall a particular pug run with heigan a while back. Good thing we were not going for Immortal....

Alright go ahead and pull. everything is going fine... Heighan teleports. "Ok everyone get ready to dance."... start dancing... Half the raid wipes... "Ok we still have this.".. Second teleport. 2 healers, 1 tank, 1 DPS left. I was the last DPS. So 25 minutes later the four of us finish off heighan and I do a ready check at the end saying "If you lied earlier about being able to dance hit yes and if you still hold true to the story that the 21 people that died know it hit no."
21 people hit yes. One of these days i will start paying attention to when people get Ach's and requesting achs for runs. I just thought that was funny.

People hit yes for readychecks regardless of what is said in raid chat. I don't pay attention to raid chat; especially not in Naxx (VoA is the most dozy raid there is; I do VoA Alt-Z =D). If you said "Hit "no" to stay in the raid, hit "yes" if you want me to kick you" 95% of your raid will hit yes just because "its what we do". Less drama, more action IMO.

He has no enrage timer...
He doesn't have a standard enrage timer, but his speeding-up deal can be considered one. Essentially, at some point during the fight which is longer than it should take to kill him if your raiders know what they're doing his core stats (his speed and therefore his ability to do damage in this case) will increase to the point where he basically can't be killed.
TL;DR if you take too long FL goes super fast and then smashy smashy.

Except for the fact that overloading him resets his speed... Unless your DPS on top of Flame Levvy is pulling <2.5k DPS, he will always get overloaded long before he is too fast to kite.

My point exactly. Unless your DPS is performing badly, the mechanic closest to an enrage timer will never cause your raid problems. That's exactly how every boss with a standard enrage timer works.

Not really. With Flame Levvy, his so called "enrage" can be deactivated by 1 (2 on 25 man) good DPS. 2 good DPS won't make up for 15 bad DPS on Patchwerk; he will enrage no matter what.
