Doesn't seem likes there's an easy way to force the obelisks to spawn. Hanging around high traffic world quest area might be your best bet to obtain this achievement quickly.

These Obelisks might be the most frustrating thing added for druids.

Unless you leave shapeshift, 90% of the time the cast is cancelled early and debuffs you with Request Offering. Leaving shapeshift and then clicking it drastically increases the chance you will not get randomly interrupted from nothing.

I am not sure a single QA tester or dev plays feral or guardian druid because this is unmissable and been frustrating me since my very first channel in the very first hour of Legion Remix nearly 4 weeks ago, up to my 100th+ today.

Safe bets for high traffic areas in the late game:

Legion invasion zones on the broken isles. Camp an invasion WQ with lots of mobs.
Sentinax. You may have to find it manually, as the icon may not show on your map. Also a good idea to find/start a sentinax farm. Good to have a bunch of beacons already in your inventory.
Invasion points on Argus. They are limited time, but there are often other people.
WQ's that are either for a world boss (purple with dragon frame), a smaller boss (blue with dragon frame), or for the emissary (the ones where you do 3-4 WQs for a specific faction)

Shame on blizz for making such a stupid and needless grind on all these heroic achievements.

That being said, I did some grinding today and while I don't have a lot of information, here's what I found out:

It IS purely RNG based. I have tested this on multiple different groups of mobs and mob density and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

I have had a couple drop from demons spawned from mobs that have the ability to summon demons, so you increase your chance from them as well (ironically, one that spawned from a demon was a Legion champion obelisk).

Have lots of AOE if you can. I'm on a hunter, so I have multishot which also gives a pet cleave, thunderclap from barbed shot, and I'm mostly use Tempest Wrath since the mobs swarm around you anyway.

The key thing is to find areas where there are dozens of mobs in a small, compact area. These areas include the direbeak areas (also bonus if you are doing warden world quests and one is up), Morheim, which is the murloc infested area that is the very south of Stormheim (this also has the benefit of a nearby direbeak nesting area), and other similar places. I was farming a spot in Krokuun, Darkfall Ridge which is also good for the Legionslayer achievement, but the obelisks didn't seem so spawn as often. The location is /way 60, 78

I chose the direbeak nest next to Morheim simply because the groups are tighter together and it was easier to get info, but you might get it faster with one of the other larger nests. I would not recommend the nest in Val'shara as it has a lot of hills and places that are hard to get to.

I found that I could run from the north end of the nesting area all the way south and get an obelisk almost once ever run through. By the time I was done, they were already respawning in the north and I would run back through again.

Lastly, I'm doing this solo, you have even more chance if you're with a group of people because they also have chances to spawn one. It doesn't matter who gets one, you get credit for clicking it.

Well.. thinking back on farming those First Aid quest items back when Legion was new, I'd landed in a spot to do some in-game research at Suramar's Terrace of Order (44.7, 66.7) where the Suramar Loyalists there respawn about as quickly as one can kill them. There's one particularly nice spot (screenshot submitted) about 1-2yrds back from a table on the SW side where one can stand and be in melee range of the two NPCs there without having to move at all.

After checking into things, I've some bad news which is also sorta good.. or.. I've some good news which is also sorta bad.. depending on one's outlook: The obelisks for this achievement seem to have a kind of three minute 'internal cooldown' for spawning.

So, it doesn't matter so much where one farms this achievement (i.e., the mob density, kill or respawn rate, other player involvement, etc.), just so long as one stays busy it's merely a matter of 'setting a timer' and about every three minutes any trash nearby will then drop an obelisk.

If you find that the numbers are not increasing, check that you are in Heroic World Tier mode. You will see a red skull face icon. If not then go back to the bazaar to enable it.

The scrum under a Lost Legion Infernal is littered with obelisks. I clicked 15-20 before each Infernal went down. Be sure you're geared enough to wade through the damage.
