Hazy Celebration Crate: Found by a Blizzard hint, in Desolace, you must be dead to see the crate and accept the quest.

Mildewed Celebration Crate: Grab the Potion of Truth in Ashenvale, this gives a 30 min Buff that can only be kept on Kalimdor. You will lose it if you port anywhere else. You must travel via non-loading screen means! Potion does have a ~5 min respawn so if not there hang out and it should come back. Then fly down to Feralas near Dire Maul area and grab the crate.

Ghostly Celebration Crate: The crate can be found in Maldraxxus on the upper level of the Seat of the Primus, next to the portal that would take you back to the inner area.

Note: There is an alternate version of the #1 crate, which is only available if you did NOT pick up the Desolace crate. It can not be picked up on a character the Hazy Celebration Crate was picked up on (so if you've been following this guide, basically too late now, must be done on an alt). It can be found at the following coordinates in Nagrand, also while dead (so drop down without armor on from a great height). Release, then click on the Curious Haze. If you don't see it, you must have already collected the Hazy Celebration Crate on this character, must be done on an alt.

I had trouble finding the Water-Resistant Receipt in the Thousand Needles' cave:

It's on the floor behind the pipe at the end of the northernmost corridor.

For Crate #10 go to Ahn'Qiraj south, to the cave where the dragon is. Pickup bones, then go to Stormheim and find a grave and have pet dog to unhide it.

Ghostly Celebration Crate:

In the heart of this land, where warlords tread,
Seek the seat where destinies are read.
Above the halls, where banners wave,
Sits the treasure that you crave.

Go to Maldraxxus at 50.00, 73.80, above the Seat of the Primus. The crate is in the statue, right below the ribcage, near a portal to the inside, not on top of the entire structure.

For the Ghostly Crate, go to Maldraxxus. Since we can fly now, it makes it easy to fly south from the Theater of Pain. When you get to the statue on top of the Throne (outside) there's a green portal. Go to the right of the portal, the crate is in the shadows snuggled against the wall (there's a portion of the wall that is spikey if that helps anyone? Like dragon ridges?). Took me a bit of time to figure it out and w/o the commenters below I wouldn't have guessed at all it was there. Thank you posters!

If you're in Karazhan and can't see the crate beyond the sinners, you might be phased due to the artifact weapon. Happened to me. Abandoned my quest, saw the Dirt caked crate. Hope that helps!

If you're having trouble getting to Shadowlands to complete the Ghostly Celebration Crate achievement you can use the timeways portal in Dornogal at 53,38

Then go through the Timeways and take the first portal on the left for Ardenweald

Then you can go for the crate

Alternative way of reaching the Ghostly Celebration Crate if you have not hone Shadowlands quest line: When pcelebration portals are opened in Shadowlands location (Ardenweald, Revendreth), you can go to these locations, go to nearest flight point, and fly between Shadowlands locations (to Maldraxxus in particular)

Does anyone else not see the Ghostly Celebration Crate in Maldraxxus? I've seen people approach, interact with something, and walk away but there is no crate there.

I was able to see and pick up the crate whilst still being alive.

It was the last of the crates I needed of the 11 for the achievement and I was in Druid Flight Form at the time - not sure if either has anything to do with being able to get the crate whilst alive or if Blizzard have changed this quest.

Just to be clear, for number 9, you should be in the OUTLANDS version of Nagrand.

Hello folks,

Unfortunately, I have the problem that no boxes are displayed at all.

I was in the underwater building in Tanaris and the box isn't there.

In Zalandar I was at the mussel and opened it with the drink that I bought from the dealer. This box isn't there either.

I picked up the waterproof slip in Thousand Needles and then went to Aszuna and spoke to the dealer there.

He couldn't sell me a box.

I opened a ticket and the GM tells me he can't help me? (lol?)

Do you have any idea how I can fix this bug?

Top tips, thanks so much. Only comment is that I didn't have to be dead to get the Hazy Crate in Desolace, wondered if anyone who hasn't done SL, where we effectively died to enter, might actually have to let themselves be eaten by one of the kodo nearby, just a thought :)

I cannot start this achievement, because the note doesn't appear on the board.

I tried to do this on my alt, but it is not there either...

Would love to know whether it is a bug or a feature.

Alyx, the NPC in charge of the Guest Relation mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, has moved to Dornogal, where she still accept missing Celebration Crates. She is just to the west of Stoneshapers Atrium next to the pool of water.

As of 11.2.7, I can not seem to see (dead or alive) the first crate, while I did not pick any one on any character already (was not playing last year). Am I the only one that can not see it?
For Nagrand one (replacement of Desolace's crate), it appears and disppears as I go by, and when dead, I can see it sometimes but not interact with the crate

I tried to finish my last missing chest Surprisingly Pristine Celebration Crate for the achievement. I already got the quest item from the grave, but i cannot accept the quest, because "Quest requirements not met". Tried the same on an alt with the same result.

EDIT: If somebody runs into the same problem. I went to the timewalking vendor in Oribos and out of nowhere i could accept the quest. It did not work on the outside ring of oribos. Very strange, but finally i could finish this achievement.

So of course 2025 trying to get this done and i have been unable to get Desolace/Nagrand (could see the haze but no box or quest), Sand Crate Receipt is there but not sellable anymore from the vendor. The only one i was able to find so far was the Soggy one from underwater bar.

If it matters none of these are on Alyx's board i have no quest to get them i am just searching for them. once i return to the celebration grounds i can then accept the quest, but so far seems like none of them are working. maybe they forgot about the clam one?

Would love any 2025 folks to comment what they have been able to find or how to start the quest proper with clues etc

A bunch of the chests are bugged and do not spawn no matter what you do, don't bother trying for the detective achievement for now

After this you'll see the 8 crates correlating to each note

Midnight prepatch seems to have removed all of the crates making this unobtainable.

Edit: Submitted a ticket through payment issue to get a real person and was met with

"From my investigation, I cannot verify any issues, neither are there any reports of this matter. This isn't to say an issue doesn't exist, only that it's neither confirmed nor reported, as such we lack a workaround for this matter."

So either they are lying or bug reporting literally does nothing.

Edit 2: Received another update with this;

"Upon reviewing the situation, I kindly ask for your understanding that we have received several reports regarding this issue, and currently, there are no known problems with this achievement. However, we have seen an increase in reports of players missing these crates since the Midnight Pre-Patch."

So they've received several reports on it and many reports since prepatch buuut there's no problems at all with this achievement. What a joke of a company.

All of them have been fixed EXCEPT the Battered Celebration Crate. It is not there with or without the Torch of Pyrreth.
