To be more specific than "various toons", the Skin of Shadow drops from Risen Bonewarders around Rattlegore, Risen Constructs around Illucia Barov, Illucia herself, the Ravenian, Lorekeeper Polkelt and Instructor Malicia. To get them, jump down over the railing in that entrance area to Scholomance (it might take trial and error to find the right place to jump), turn right out of the room you jumped into and go into the room with dragon whelps, and jump down one of the holes around the side of the room (or just go down the staircase on the far side of the room) to find Rattlegore and Risen Constructs. Kill Rattlegore for the key and constructs for the Skins, go back to the room you jumped into, unlock the locked door, turn right through the other door and down one set of stairs, and you'll find all the minibosses in little rooms on two levels around that central area. They have trash mobs, but some can be avoided and the rest die easily to aoe. When I stealth I can do this without aggroing a single unnecessary mob except for one miniboss's trash and the group by the locked door, but even without stealth your aggro radius should be small enough at 80 to not pull too many mobs. All mobs that can drop skins have basically the same drop rate and there are more in Rattlegore's room than in the rest of the instance, so some people might prefer to skip the part after Rattlegore and just farm them from his room.

The Frayed Abomination Stitching drops from abominations in Stratholme. A handful of them can be found patrolling in the undead part of Stratholme on the way to the Scarlet Crusade's area, the part of Strat that's not actually part of a Baron run, but they probably aren't worth tracking down. Instead, do a Baron run and you'll get the stitches from Rammstein and aboms around the slaughterhouse before him.

If you just run into those instances and kill everything until you find skins or stitchings, you will be killing a LOT of mobs for no reward.

From what I've gathered from Thottbot, this quest is just another random followup quest after turning in one of the original logistics quests. I, however, am now on my 24th Cenarion Logistics Badge, and this is still the last one I have not yet completed. I will return and post when and if I get this quest.

Update: After my 29th Cenarion Logistics Badge, I finally recieved my The Ultimate Deception quest. My only advice to get this quest: Keep at it, it'll drop eventually.

We've come to believe that the stones the Twilight's Hammer uses to summon their superiors allow for two-way transportation. To attempt to use them in this manner, we must replicate - to every last detail - a twilight emissary's robe.
