To finish this quest, you need to kill King Mukla (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=1559), a 42 Gorilla. He is on the southeast side of the island that the Princess is on.

Tried to solo @ 48, didnt work out too well, he hits rather fast and i saw a few hits for around 600, good dps and a healer should be all you need for this fight.

If you are a frost mage, you can easily beat him down at level 50 using water elemental. Just save the CDs for both novas and nuke him with frostbolt. Remember to take at least 1 mana potion with you.

Forgot to do this q. Solo'd this as a lvl 56 fire mage, pretty easy, but if your in much lower level he might be hard to solo, hes doing pretty much dmg

Location is 40.84 tried to solo it with hunter level 46 no chance killed in a matter of seconds. Its a level 51 elite. The level 50 gorillas were easy. recommend group at level 46.

Killed with the help of a shadow priest at level 50. He does a good deal of damage and the priest was barely able to keep me alive.

soloed as level 48 affliction warlock… kiting him around the island for minutes with curse of exhaustion.

he doesn't aggro other mobs, but as above said, he hits hard:
once i aggroed a gorilla, got dazed, he reached me and nearly my whole HP was gone in two hits…

watch out for the stealthy panthers around on that island.

Edit: this was when Mukla was lvl ~50 Elite.

Just did this with my lvl 45 hunter and a lvl 48 fire mage. He's slow and has a short melee range, but hits frikkin hard if you get too close. The key to beating him at lower levels is to kite him around trees b/c he has to run around the trees but you can fire through them, and sometimes you can keep him confused as to which side of the tree to go around. And don't get hit.

There are two really big trees near him, close to the water. Cleared out the gorillas first so no adds, turned on Aspect of the Pack so the mage and I could keep ahead of him, fire mage switched to Frostbolt to help keep him slow and for mana efficiency and to keep aggro on me. Growl disabled on pet so it would just dps and not pull aggro from me. Then ran loops and figure 8's around the trees for a few minutes, slowly dps'ing him down. Both the mage and I used a mana pot. At under 1/5 health, mage hit him with Pyroblast, Fireballs, Fireblast, and he was done.

yeah, big marmoset, near 12k of health. i soloed as 52 rogue (daggers). evasion and blind are your friends with such quests :)

Ugh, this is next to impossible as a solo warrior, even at level 56. Sure you can kite him all day but you can't apply damage very effectively, as he parries quite well, and he hits like a truck. I went through a lot of bandages before giving up.

I did just soloed him as lvl 51 hunter that wasn't that hard, just have a strategy.

Was able to solo this as a 45 hunter.

A few posts above, a poster mentions two large trees he figure 8'd around to kill him.

What I ended up doing was just get aggro on myself, send my pet in to attack him(without growl) and just kited him around the larger of the two trees w/ aspect of the pack. If you manage to get a decent bit ahead of him around said tree, he'll actually turn around and head to you that way. If you're smart, you can abuse this a few times, make him go back and forth, before having to do a few more rounds.

All I did really was put serpent sting on him, get a bit inhead, and do an auto shot. Run ahead more, another autoshot, rinse, repeat, and reapply Serpent when it's about to fall off.

He also does a small AoE that will probably hit your pet a few times. It doesn't hurt much, but besure to watch your pet's health and use Mend when needed.

Only had to use 2 greater mana potions. I probably could have done it with none in a few more tries as I used Conq shot and arcane shot several times aswell throughout.

With the coming of 2.3 this quest is only about level 42 (don't have a quest lvl mod so not sure, but King Mukla is now 42 rather than 51).

They downgraded the difficulty of the quest to 42, but the folded note from the bottle that leads you here still requires level 45. So this is already a green quest the moment you get it.

I just killed him. He is actually level 42 now. Easy solo by a level 42 enhancement shaman. You should find him around 40, 83.

As of patch 2.3 all the mobs are lvl 41-42 & King Mukla is a lvl 42 non elite, so I was able to solo as shadow preist easily lvl 45. The only problem is you still cant actually get the quest until 45.

I am a lvl 48 Warlock and have just completed this quest solo with only my minion. Sent in minion first and dot with curse of agony . and then repeated shadowbolt attack brought him down with ease.

I just solo'd him on my 42 Human Paladin, Didn't need to use my Divine Shield, or any protection skills, Had to Holy Light once during battle though.
I'm a retri spec by the way.

Just completed this quest (solo) with my lvl46 warrior. Easily one of the weakest quests I have ever done. Swam to Jaguero after finishing the Bloodsail Bucaneers triumverate. Found the folded note in the 2nd bottle (NE corner beach). Found the Princess on a small gated hill on the NW corner jungle. Found Mukla on the NE corner jungle (by himself). With no mob and no elite status he went down in 45 sec's. I really expected better from this series. Although the bracers were a nice prize.

Just solo'd it as a Lv43 Rogue fairly easily. Sneak up to him while he's in a clearing away from the other Gorillas. Throw out a Distract and then Ambush him. When he turns around and starts swinging, pop Evasion and keep using Sinister Strike => Evicerate to bring his health down as quickly as possible. If you're lucky (as I was), he'll be dead not long after your Evasion wears off and you won't have to use any healing potions or blind him to bandage yourself, but those are always options to keep in mind. If all else fails, try to stack up some Combo Points and then Vanish. The Combo points will remain for a second attempt so you can push out some quick damage. Just don't fight him without Evasion at the ready. He does hit extremely hard.

Killing King Mukla itself yields 960 EXP with rested bonus.

Soloed him on my 44 protadin. He hits for roughly 100 with 2400 armor. Just kept holy shield up and beat on him with JoC and SoR until he dropped.

Is the King an Elite? I havnt attepmted to go to him yet, but I still do know he is on the Same Isle as the Princess.

Rather easy for a lv 41 hunter. Keep your pets aggro high, and if you aggro any adds you should take your pet on them too.
If there's more than three (Including the King) you should: Volley, damage them all. Plant a explosive trap at your feet as you gain their aggro from the volley, Fegin Death (spelling?) and repeat. Takes quite a lot of mana thou'.

just as a revision...i did this quest on 2/12/09. this giant ape is king kong sized, and very hard to miss. if you just go to the south end of the island, (the same island as princess poobah) you absolutely cant miss him. the coords are correct for him. however, if you are following a guide from 1-70 in 14 days, i cant remember who i got it from, brian kopp i think, he says that this ape is a lvl 51 elite. he is not, he is only a lvl 42 regular mob. hope this is helpful, have fun and good luck on your adventures!

I am a level 44 Druid player and I usually do feral combat but to beat Mukla I ended up just using entangling roots the entire battle *since only small mana needed* and then kept starfiring him. Very simple quest as a druid provided you have those two things =D

not saying this is true in any way but, in this quest Krom'Grul the troll is saying that her noose ring is a wedding ring, and since you get this girls noose ring (i know shes tauren might not be correct) you could just have gotten married.
