Don't forget to look for the riddle that starts this quest: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=624 while you're on the ships; you'll usually find it on the ship that has Captain Stillwater on it - the one that is by itself apart from the other 2 ships (though I'm not too sure if it spawns on the other ships, but my friends told me they also got it the same ship, so... =)

They can all be found in the ships Southeast of Booty Bay.

Stillwater is in the Easternmost ship.
Fleet Master is in the center ship.
Keelhaul is in the Westernmost ship.

The mobs are in very close quarters and they have a tendency to run at low health.

The Swabbies have a Gouge that wipes all aggro from the gouged target, so if you play a pet class, be wary of that.

With the heads-up from the above comments I picked-up the Cortello's Riddle quest on Stillwater's ship. Thanks. Later I noticed the riddle on the table beside Capt Keelhaul also.

Don't go down too deep in the ships -- although there are a few levels in them, the named mobs for the quest are all only on their ships' second floor down, in the "back room". You'll only need to go down one staircase per ship.

Also, I found Cortello's Riddle in Fleet Master Firallon's ship (the center one), so it might be a random placement between the three ships.

Although the quest is marked level 45 (thus yellow to a level 43), be aware that Fleet Master Firallon is level 48 and surrounded by adds.

You should also beware that the mobs spawn really fast, so it's probably a good idea to bring a friend.

this quest is pretty hard... i couldn't solo as a 43 lock. almost impossible to pull 1 by itself.

As mentioned before it is best to do this quest with a friend if you are lower then aprox level 45.

I have done this quest a couple of times as a lvl42 mage with a lvl43 friend (shaman, priest and warrior). But be carefull with your pulls. The space in these ships is limited and it is easy to pull an entire deck at once (often resulting in a wipe). The captians are in the first deck down, in the front quarters.

Make sure you have some potions with you as well and this quest should give no problems.

Easy to clear the trash with a level 70, switch toons and kill the Elites with my 44

I was able to solo with my 44 BE Tankadin. I would have failed miserably without Arcane Torrent (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=25046) for the Elder Magii I'm afraid.

The melee mobs are just like any other AoE tankadin grind. Keep Retribution, Blessing of Sanctuary, Seal of Light and Imp. Righteous Fury up and you're in for win.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet.

The spawn times on these guys is ridiculously low. I'd say two minutes. If you kill the guys on the top deck, kill your way to the captain, and eat/drink twice, you'll have respawns on the top deck.

Soloed with 45 MM hunter. Was pretty hard to keep aggro on my spider because they use gouge. Died twice. The mobs are pretty easy to kill though, aspecially mages

As of patch 2.3, this quest and the mobs associated with it have been scaled down to level 42.

This is all confirmed, its a simple quest now, the only small struggle would be the fact that the mobs are still close to each other and they respawn extremely quickly.
-- On a side note, there is a Solid Chest in the bottom floor of the ship with Fleet Master Firallon on it. I didnt get any thing spectacular from it, but it did give me 2 greater healing pots, and some moonberry juice, some mageweave,and 2 greater mana pots.
---Highest lvl i encountered was a 42 and i did this with my 43 enhance shaman with absolutely no problems

all coords confirmed found the riddle at about on top of a barrel on the west most ship lvl 2 i think at around 29,89

solod as a 44 combat rouge pretty easy. stealth in kill bosses stealth out if his 1st mate aggros u and u don wanna fight just vanish

I solo'd this with my 44 NE Hunter. I didn't have any trouble at all. I would have my boar pull single mobs and then just kill them all from a distance. I actually cleaned out all three boats and both islands by myself. I only had to use one mana and one health potion once because Fleet Master Firallon has 2x guards and an Orc Warrior as bodyguards. I just set an explosive trap to keep the damage up and let my boar fight the FM and Orc while I meleed with the guards. I did have to keep hitting my pet with heal spells but other than that, this was pretty easy to solo as a LVL 44 Hunter.

Did it with as a lvl 39 hunter :
First kill the 2-3 pirates in the deck
Second just click on the name of the mob u want to kill (e.g. Captain Stillwater) and attack with pet.
Then run in the ramp of the ship and when pet hits the mob, put it in passive mode so he comes up to the deck. Usually they come alone, except Keelhaul who comes with one or two mobs(The most difficult to kill )

Soloed him as a lvl 41 Prot Pali (2.6k health 4.8k armor). Sol/JoL were enough to keep me on par with his health, actually I ditched Sol for SoW halfway through, HS had drained my mana. Shielded and healed twice when he crit with a melee and then trample. Other wise he hit for about 90-110 crit for around 200 didn't catch how much trample did.

Soloed this as a lvl 40 druid (feral spec). Get into prowl, go to second deck back room as mentioned above on all 3 ships, stand right behind bosses where no other mobs can see you and rip into em!

Also as previously mentioned, the riddle does spawn randomly - I saw it on all 3 ships in different places, and when I re-entered ships it respawned in all new locations. Mostly it appeared on the second decks, but occasionally on the third.

I found the riddle in the very bottom of Master Firalon's ship. The first time I went thru all three ships in the two top levels. Yes, I got all the people on these levels to complete the quest, but failed to find the riddle so I went back and went thru all 3 ships top to bottom to find the Riddle.

Solo'd as 41 Assassination Rogue.

Just stealth to each boss, and if you gain too much aggro... Vanish and start anew.

Captain Stillwater (gnome) is level 40 and on the Easternmost boat.
Fleet Master Firallon (human) is level 41 and he and his orc friend Ironpatch (level 42) are on the middle boat.
Captain Keelhaul (goblin) is level 40 and his tauren friend Garr Salthoof (level 40) are on the Westernmost boat.

The pattern is essentially the same for all of them: get on the boat, go downstairs, turn right.

for me, the fleet master was on the middle boat, accompanied by a named mob named 'ironpatch'.

captain keehaul was on the left boat with an NPC named "garr salthoof". watch out as he has a large axe

stillwater was on the left boat. i didn't see any NPC with him there cause it looked like someone cleared it before me. he does however, cast arcane explosion. watch yourself.

easily solo'ed as a lvl 47 enhance shaman

I got the riddle in the boat where you kill fleet Master Firallon, it was on the bottom of the boat.

Solo'd as a 42 shaman, got killed once because of the mobs running away. >.<

Make sure you kill the right guys. XD (I killed Garr and thought I was done. x.x)

Horrible quest for any class with any kind of AoE at all. If you AoE, it goes THROUGH the entire boat no matter what level you are on, and pulls every single mob below and above you.

Frustrating as hell as a frost mage, whenever ice barrier breaks, blizzard goes off, frost nova hits, or arcane explosion comes, you're fighting 7-10 mobs that are hitting you from 30 yards below you, in another part of the ship.

This quest is a very easy solo as a Level 42 Paladin. I just did it and all quest mobs are level 42 with 1 level 42 guard. As long as you make sure none of them run away and pull others it's simple.

Trying to do this quest at 38 is exceptionally annoying. I can kill the mobs, albeit with many misses, but trying to get to the last captain I need means fighting mobs who run under and between stairs I can't even cast at, and then bring back the big named who charges through walls, hits me for 700-800, and stuns me.

Garr, you suck. :(
