This quest actually starts by killing the kodo (Margol) in searing gorge located at 70,76 he's on a little patrol so you might need to look around the path for him. The full quest line is worth over 15k of xp and can be done in about 15 minutes.

The key is for the gate right beside mountaineer pebblebitt; it leads to Searing Gorge and you can open the gate at that end as well. Guess it's supposed to be a short cut

Before the inclusion of Thorium Point the other way to get through to the Searing Gorge was by traveling through Loch Modan into the Badlands and through to the Searing Gorge.

Of course this requires passing close by to Kargath which can be no fun on a PvP server given that the Horde travel from Kargath and towards Blackrock Mountain.

Thorium Point was introduced into the game with the 1.5 Patch, and with a Flight Path located at Thorium Point the quest for the Searing Gorge gate key became forgotten by many.

The questline does not give more than 1500 xp after 2.3

This quest awarded 5050 experience upon completion tonight (12/01/07). Level 47 Draenei Priest, no rested experience.

Completed this today on a 46 priest, 5,050xp per step for a total of 15,150xp! Also, in relation to Mountaineer Pebblebitty you can /rude to her, after you complete the questline. I love Pulp Fiction, and Blizzards little tribute. :)

Nifty quest line. DId it just now for the fun of it. Saves some travel time and money. Very cool.

I just walked the whole freaking way, just to find out there is no horde version of this quest :(
