This quest is really a tough one!

This is the first part of the main SM quest for alliance. Make sure you do it as soon as possible to get some of the nice rewards from the next quest.

The Valley of bones is located on the southern tip of the Magram area. This quest helps you gain reputation with the Gelkis clan quest. Killing these skeletons will decrease your reputation with the Magram

This area is full of level 37-38 skellys that you have to kill. They have fear protection. But they are easy to kill, they don't wander very far and their respawn timer is on the slow side. The level 39 necromancers that walk around might give you some trouble, they patrol the little valley. Contrary to the comment above, you DO NOT lose reputation with Magram. I've killed over 30 of these, including the necromancers, and have lost no reputation.

Found these mobs extremly annoying as a caster since they use kick quite often. Easy to kill @ level 40 as a shadow priest...but annoying :)

They attack rather fast and have a pummel, but I found that you can trigger it by using an instant spell so you've got time to cast a few spells before they can pummel again.

When the game was first released, the Necromancers used to be named Magram Necromancers, but since some people wanted to choose Magram, they made them just Outcast Necromancers. If you have spell cast bars, you can still see the spell named "Summon Magram Ravager" when they summon an Undead Ravager. Quick fix on Blizzard's part, but missed a small piece ;)

Pretty easy quest as a 36 rogue, just watch out for the outcast necromancers.

This is a real easy quest just take your time and go no where near outcast unless you can silence/kick
and commenting from above aeroh why wud you do this at lvl 40 as a priest this quest chain is just xp/$ unless you are a rouge/warrior/pally/enhance shammy

There are two entrances.

- Shadow resistance - High (note this shadow priests)
~~- Immune to bleed effects (Rip for druids etc)~~
* I recently found that they had changed the immunity of bleed effects while leveling my rogue. Seems they can now take Bleed dots etc, GG :)

Your best bet is to stay on the rocky hillside to avoid any pats on the dirt road below.

The next part of the quest (Down the Scarlet Path) will lead you to Southshore, Hillsbrad to speak to Raleigh the Devout. He is upstairs, inside of the Inn. Go up to the second floor, he's in the last room on the right.

@ 10,000 exp rewarded.

This quest may be labelled as lvl 39, but it's really far from being that hard, especially for melees (poor shadow priests though :/).
I just soloed it yesterday with my pally (Exorcism is an advantage I admit) to be able to get Bonebiter at lvl 34.

Currently soloing this as a 34 paladin. The undead are not immune to Turn Undead spells, just beware of the kick, and necromancers, as mentioned above.

Soloing this as a 37 druid in cat form. A good pounce can stun these guys enough for you to get in two or three combo points with the claw attack. They're spaced out well along the entrance by the Magram camp and respawn slowly enough to give you a good chance to heal and buff in between attacks. Just remember to pace yourself and don't just charge in. An animal form melee attack will do better against these undead than spells, as you'll heal faster, and you won't have to constantly replenish your mana.

Did this as a 38 rogue.

Undead Ravagers don't pick up on stealthed characters, and they don't hit very hard once you've entered combat. I guess having being eyeless, weaponless, and made of rotting bone makes life hard. Sucks for them, but at 215 xp each, they are probably the best xp/time ratio of any mob at this level that I've seen.

As a rogue I used cheap shot, waited for the stun effect to wear off, then hit them with three sinister strikes all in a row followed by an eviscerate. After all this they usually didn't last long enough for my energy to recharge enough for another sinister strike.

The Necromancers can make things difficult, as they summon undead ravagers to their side. If you've got it, a kick or a quick shield bash makes things much easier, but character classes with area of effect attacks may find it more expedient to just let them summon. ymmv.

Grand total, including the 5 minute runs to and from Nijel's point, I had this quest done in 20-25 minutes, with a total gain of ~10,000xp and just over 1.5g after I turned it in.

I solo'ed this as a 35 rouge. There's no need to be afraid of them spawning behind you, because they have a spawn time of around 6 minuets 50

Quite easy as a lvl 36 pally. There are a few Necromancers patrolling the place and they made it a little harder, but it wasn't bad at all.

These skeletons are on level 37-38 but there's some centaurs that is level 40. If you are level 36 jsut avoid the centaurs.

when you do this quest u must have backup or you will die.....unless you're like a lvl47 ..... ohh yeah they also respawn like in under 1 minute and a half

Solo-able as a 34 ret paladin... though you have to be twinked to the teeth... then again maybe you dont since we are talking about ret paladins in 3.1

Well, for all the priests out there who aren't shadow, I was disc, I found an easy rotation for this. HF-SW:P-DP-Mind Blast-wand until HF is off CD and then use HF-Mind Blast-Wand until dead or they're off CD. Easy rotation! ^^
