The Netherwing Pass starts on 62,63 and the Altar of Shadows is on 58,71.

Is this only for horde? If so, where is the alliance one? Do you need any specific tailoring skill? Like 325+ or something?

Actually, that's doable as any level above dark portal level. As long as you're not dazed along the way, you'll be fine. I just did it with my 62 warlock. Was dazed a few times, but popped health stones and major healing pots a lot. Also had a soulstone up in case times got tough, but they really never were. Worth the effort, no doubt.

it is simple,you remember the blood elves base at shadowmoon,you have just to pick your flying mount and travel to 58,71..if you dont have,pick your simple mount,jump to the flames and drive from the right!!!!!...Good luck

I'm level 60 and am currently on this quest. The quest becomes available at 350 tailoring, regardless of your toon level.

Something wrong with this quest for me, I use the Crystal at the altar, it's consumed and the graphics play out, but nothing happens.

If you choose to change your specialization you need to drop tailoring and once you hit 350 again they don't have the quest ! above them but talk to the one you want to specialize in and they have a chat option about specializing. You then need to pay them 20g and that's it, you're specialized.

After the patch they will be adding an option allowing tailors to respecialize without relearning the whole profession.

It seems like this quest is bugged at the moment, i went to the altar and used the item however it did not say i finished the quest. i tried abandoning and starting over and it did not work either.

I easily ran to Shadowmoon Valley at 64, make sure you get the Scryers FP if you are Scryer along the way.

I ran without wipe to Altar @ lvl 61. Thank god there were hunterbots who was killing the 69 elementals there. And finished my quest.

Don't know if it's because of my level or cause it was first time i've respecced but I paid 50g to unlearn and 20g to relearn so 70g total.

If you look on the map- to the upper right of the targeted dot you should see an opening. There's 3 crystals in that area as well.

This I found as the best place to enter to get to the Altar of Shadows. Any other path I followed just got me killed.

I'm friendly with the Aldor- that may have made a difference as to where I could travel, but as a lvl 62 mage it was actually not as hard as I thought.

Just make sure you see the gap- missing it is no fun.

I CANNOT complete this quest, I've re-done it 3 times now. I bring the stone to the Altar of shadows and it zaps the stone yet it does not complete the quest for me. I've retried it 3 times by standing infront of the altar, ontop of the altar and behind it. None have worked for me. Anybody else have this problem?

NOTE: The items u make within Shadoweave tailoring becomes useless when you change your tailoring specialty.

Just got a bad experiance from it. -_-

I made it there on my 63 priest, just didn't stop for anything. I scoped it out on a friends flying mount first. Not too bad of a trip until you get right by the Scryers fp and Sanctum of the Moon. Lot's of lvl 68-70's that were ready to $%^& me if I stopped. Well worth the trip at this level to start on the Shadoweave set, even if you die a time or two getting there! Good luck. :)

Only costs 70g to respec the first time, not 150g. 50g to unlearn your old specialty and 20g to pick up the new one. It is possible it increases every time you do it, but I only did it once so I can't say.

im making this post for people who are confused about what spec to go for in tailoring based on the gear that tailoring spec provides.

shadoweave tailoring: frost mages, shadow priests, and warlocks.
spellfire tailoring: fire mages, arcane mages.
mooncloth tailoring: any cloth-wearing healing class (and, i guess, for druids if they cant find good leather healing gear)(also makes 20 slot bags a lot easier to make.).

I'm having a problem on completeing this quest. i stand at the altar i use the gem in my bag it does the whole lightning thing but im not getting the quest completion am i missing something? or is it bugged and if so should i tell a GM?

Awnser: ok i've figured it out if anyone has this same problem do not stand on the altar do not even touch it for some odd reason if u stand on top of it u dont get complete

As lv 80 with over 350 in tailoring, I could not see a quest, but if you talk to the Shadoweave Tailor trainer, he has a speak option " I wish to be an Shadoweave tailorer" And you give him 20 gold (IIRC) and wham! Done, no quest :o

Just to clear things up, Andrion Darkspinner in the Lower City of Shattrath gives you this quest at 350 Tailoring.

This Shadowweave died because of Wow/Blizzard dropping FELCLOTH. More waste of time trying to level up my tailor-Priest. This toon of mine will soon be deleted.

If you become a shadoweave specialist, you will make twice as much shadowcloth as an average tailor and have access to several exclusive patterns.

Of course, any tailor can use the Altar of Shadows, but a shadoweave tailor possesses a deeper attunement to the altar, unlocking powers that few can fathom.

Take this crystal to eastern Shadowmoon Valley, and find Netherwing Pass leading south from the Netherwing Fields. Near the world's edge, you will find the Altar of Shadows. Use the crystal there.
