I can confirm that you cannot do it at lv 50.

I had a lv 50 alt summoned to Hellfire Peninsula, then I trained to 375 max tailoring and leveled tailoring to 350. I was able to learn the transmutes for all three types (Primal Mooncloth, Spellcloth, and Shadowcloth), but I was unable to pick up any of the quests for specialization.

I boostet my lvl 60 alt to 350 skill.
And the very instant i got 350 skill, a ! appered on the NPC.

So i got the quest, completed it, and got 2xprimal mooncloth from my transmute.

You can find the moonwell at the Cenarion's Refuge in Zangarmarsh. It is located at about 80,65.

In order to pick up this quest first of all you need to get your tailorning skill to 350. As far as I can tell the level requirement is 60.

Note: no mob spawns so it's easy to do at any level.

* Specialisation quests start from the specialists in Shattrath City at 66,69.

** To get past 300 skill in tailoring seek the Trainer located at the first floor in the Inn of Honor Hold in Hellfire Peninsula (Alliance). For Horde check out Thrallmar in the same area.

Level requirement is wrong. You will be able to get and complete any of Tailoring Specializaion quests at level 60, as soon as you will get 350 skill.

getting 300+ training only requires lvl 50. is it possible for a lvl 50 tailor to get the specialist quest if hes already at 350 tailoring?

If you choose to change your specialization you need to drop tailoring and once you hit 350 again they don't have the quest ! above them but talk to the one you want to specialize in and they have a chat option about specializing. You then need to pay them 20g and that's it, you're specialized.

Don't know if it's because of my level or cause it was first time i've respecced but I paid 50g to unlearn and 20g to relearn so 70g total.

For this quest you receive a pack that looks like a 16 slot bag. The supplies are inside.

It is temptingly convenient... but DON'T use your primal mooncloth cooldown while you are there. You have to turn in your quest to get the specialization first or you will NOT get two pieces.

Easy quest. To get this quest you need to be 350 in Tailoring and level 60. If you are, talk to this NPC (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=22208) to get the quest. After take the Fly Path to Telredor in Zangarmarsh. After walk to Cenarion Refuge. The Moonwell is on the other side of the village (near where the repetable quest are). Anyway, walk in the Moonwell (the water), open the bag, and right-click on the item to create a sample and wait (that going to take like 45 sec). And your done, return the the NPC in Shat ;)

It seems to me that mooncloth tailoring is better than shadow weave tailoring even if you are a Warlock / Frost Mage. The armor for shadow weave spec tailors is good but it will be replaced quite quickly. Plus, even though there is no armor for the Warlock / Frost Mage, it takes half as much time to make primal mooncloth bags. Also note that you can still make the Soulbag or armor... it will just take longer.

im making this post for people who are confused about what spec to go for in tailoring based on the gear that tailoring spec provides.

shadoweave tailoring: frost mages, shadow priests, and warlocks.
spellfire tailoring: fire mages, arcane mages.
mooncloth tailoring: any cloth-wearing healing class (and, i guess, for druids if they cant find good leather healing gear)(also makes 20 slot bags a lot easier to make.).

This does require 350 Tailoring. I was 63, and 340 and could not obtain this until 350.

Is this bugged? im lvl 73 and 384 tailor and they all say i can not train.

no one anywhere is giving me the quest.
i am lvl 70 and 360 tailoring.... none is even offering me the quest...

For those wanting to learn how to make Mooncloth, you can go buy the pattern from Qia a female goblin in Winterspring for 2 gold, so don't buy it on the AH those that sell it on the AH price it up to one or two thousand gold to those who can't find it or get it due to the lack of the quest not being found for it now. Anyways this was Blizzard's solution to the loss of the quest for learning it. The pattern can be gotten at any time it's not rare or limited.
