There are many old players motivated to play World of Warcraft again, but, as we know, WoW is a game with constant change over the years. It can be pretty difficult for a player that quit the game long ago to return. With that in mind, we released a series of articles aimed at those players in order to help them better situate themselves in a world of Azeroth.
Update:
We thought it would be nice to re-highlight this series of articles, with a particular emphasis on Wrath of the Lich King, as John, Editor-in-Chief of Wowhead's sister site
Fanbyte
, is streaming leveling a character from scratch...and he hasn't played since Wrath. Join him as he navigates the game years later!

This is the third entry of the series, aimed at players that stopped playing during Wrath of the Lich King, WoW's second expansion and considered by many to be the game's coolest expansion. In this guide, we talk about all the major changes the game has received over the last 8 years, from a completely new Talent system, achievements, and heirlooms being able to be created on the fly. We also cover what happened with systems that did start way back then, like the expansion of Hard modes in raids, the creation of World PvP zones, and raids being tailored for a more casual audience.
