We just launched our new model viewer! It's a ground-up rewrite meant to replace both our old Flash and Java viewers, and we're very happy with how it's working so far.
Since it's a complete rewrite, there's bound to be issues with it, and that's where this thread comes in. Let us know if you find something that's broken.
If nothing shows up for you:
Check your Flash version
The minimum requirement is version 11.0. If you have anything older than that, it absolutely will not work - the 3D API that makes this viewer possible was only added in Flash 11.
Currently known issues:
Hair/head models don't always play nice with helms
Female Pandaren don't have any undergarments (is this really a bug?)
Some male Pandaren animations put him in a default pose

Well, first bug to report.... nothing shows up. Just a black screen. When mouseover to load on the Animation dropdown it just stays loading forever.
I'm on Lion 10.7.3, tried it in both Firefox 11.0 and Safari 5.1.5
I personally tried it in Safari and Firefox on 10.6.8 and it worked fine for me, are you sure you have the latest version of flash installed?

I am not seeing anything either. Firefox 3.6.28 on Windows 7 6.1
I did run the Java test from the website so I know the program is working.

It's not a Java based viewer, it's Flash.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

Ack! They move when* loaded! That's kinda creepy.
Other than being scared, which is a PEBCAK issue, it loads fine for me on 10.6 and 10.7 in Safari. Looks fantastic. Doesn't freeze up the browser.
Attempting to Ctrl+Drag (as noted in the tip) causes a right-click event that pops up Flash options. Cmd+Drag pans properly.
* For purposes of this post "when" is defined to mean immediately.
Yeah it was written for Windows, I'll have Alayton clarify it.

I used it for Model Viewer before the new model was out.

Yes, this is entirely flash based. This also means people will need to update their flash versions.
If you have an error, please update your flash first, or tell us the version you have:

Gotcha. I was taking it to mean both versions were updated instead of wholly replaced. Well, guess I'll have to get home to try it out.

Reposting this from the news thread.
hen I was viewing a female goblin and set the animation to Stop, she stopped moving (as intended) but her eye-blinking went spastic for a bit. (Stopped characters will still blink, but should not be at the rate/speed I witnessed.)
I'll try to replicate this. Successfully replicated in FireFox and Chrome 18.0.1025.162 m, except now the issue does not resolve itself (at all) after a bit.
Also, I went to my account Settings to change the default race/gender for the 3D viewer and there is no option to select Pandaren. I wanted to do this to save repetitive clicking and longer loading times.
edit: Oops. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.28) Gecko/20120306 Firefox/3.6.28.

Maybe I was one of the few, but I just didn't like the old Flash model viewer and defaulted to the Java because although it was slow, when a model did view it was sharp, crisp and clear (the flash just wasn't). Many accolades for the new Flash model viewer as it too is sharp, crisp and clear... and most importantly... FAST (yay for Actionscript and yay for Adobe)! Looking forward to seeing this used eventually for rendering our own characters. Great work!
