This. There's honestly not much else to say about them.

Also, Queggy is correct. They're a cult. They pretend to be Christians, but in the end they reject one of the most basic tenants of Christianity. God loves everybody. The moment they said "God hates," they weren't Christian anymore.

This. I would make a long post but i can not formulate my anger into words about why they are so vile.

Well, if they are followers of the old testament, they are in the right. BUT since they ruin funerals and say "thank god for dead soldiers." You can pay me 2,000 dollars and I'll burn the church down.

Incorrect. Anything Christ or the Apostles taught in the New Testament replaces anything from the Old Testament. Example: The Law of Moses.
Obviously, if you practice Judaism, this doesn't apply. However, as they are Christian, it does apply.

What about the 10% tithing? Is it still mandatory? I'm still wondering what book that is from...

I don't know for other churches, as my 10% tithing comes from a book that mainstream Christians don't believe is doctrine.

Thanks for clarifying that we live in the New Testament. But still, why do you tithe? Do you tithe because the pastor tells you to? Or do you have a greater understanding to tithing?

I believe it is that you donate 10% of what you earn to the church so it can be used to help out the less fortunate.

Heh, it seems you don't know too much about Mormonism (or maybe just about me). We are encouraged to seek as to why we should do what we do, not just because somebody tells us to. Maybe that's just me, but that's how most other Mormons I know are, and that's how the leadership directs us: To make our own choices based on our own faith, not just because somebody tells us to.
The reason I pay tithing is threefold:
The Lord has created everything and seen fit to give it to me
He asks for 10% back
People who tithe will be in favor of the Lord at the Second Coming.

I thought that the 10% belongs directly to God through a promise?. That money will then keep the church alive, recruit more, and serve the community in a minimal way.
Funden? what do you think? o__0

See my post above.
Also, for my church, tithing is used to keep the church functioning, such as paying for heating/cooling/repairs on the buildings, building temples (which are way different than meetinghouses), etc.
Fast offerings are optional donations one can make on the first Sunday of each month, the designated fast Sunday. You give the money you would spend on food (although most people pay more anyways), which goes to help the poor and needy.
There are other funds as well, such as giving money to the missionary program, money to the disaster relief fund, and money to the Church Education fund, which is used to educate people in countries where they wouldn't get education themselves.

Hmmmm, but why does he ask for 10% back? Why should people who tithe will be in favor of the 2nd coming compared to those who can't afford to tithe?

You should always tithe, whether you can afford it or not. The Lord will bless you if you do, and the church will always help you (at least in my church).
As for the 10%, that's what he asks, so that's what I give.

The only reason why I tithe to my chuch is that a huge portion of it goes to tribal services overseas that give people medicine, education, (religion -__-), and hope? But is it a law to tithe? Or is it just recommended?
