So, I just dinged 80 and was thinking of respeccing to a PvE Assassination build.
is
this
any good?
also, what rotation should I use if I spec to mut?
I thought something like Mut>SnD>Mut untill 4/5 CP> rupture>Mut untill 4/5 CP> Envenom while keeping up Rupture
Advise Plx :D

Ok so I can run a pally, a priest, and a shammy and top DPS charts (varied levels) but my rogue always bottoms out :( I have BoA shoulders and BoA chest, I am a 62 and my gs is about 1100 I have only one OL dagger and gloves so I know that I need better gear but my dps being only 300dps compared to every other 62 in group doing 500+ it really makes me feel I'm not pulling my weight. I am specced combat and have gotten to killing spree, I have skipped special weapon specialization as I don't want to invest 5 points into maces only to find that I end up running axes, etc...is this my problem? My rotation is Sinister Strike till about 4 CP's then Eviserate unless on a boss then I usually do expose armor the first time then Eviserate etc....I riposte as much as possible but not being the target generally that does not work in dungeons, I use killing spree and blade frenzy as much as cool downs allow during mob's and boss with the blade frenzy.
*Edit-if this is in wrong area I am extremely sorry!

Ok so I can run a pally ... with the blade frenzy.
Ok lets see. First problem i see from reading ur post is that u use expose armor. While that does increase yours and any melee's dmg that is bad for a couple of reasons
- Most important, if the tank is a warrior, he will be stacking sunder armor, which u will be overwriting when using expose armor, thus lowering his threat and increasing yours.
- Second, slice n dice is way more valuable and you are not using it
So to remedy that, use this rotation : >SinsterStrike to 3 points
> SliceNDice
> SS to 5 points
> Eviscerate (or rupture, depending on build and wether your target will die b4 rupture expires)
> Rinse and repeat
The other thing i noticed that's wrong, is riposte. That's a wasted 4 points, that could be used for.... you guessed it, the weapon specialization. You dont need riposte, not when ur leveling and not ever. Let tanks worry about dmg mitigation and you worry about
melting faces with your maces
(heh i made a rhyme)
Anyway at lvl 62, and since you said that u made it to Killing Spree, your spec should look like
this
or very similar to it, including the Killing Spree glyph
Hope i helped ;)
P.s: Its blade flurry, not blade frenzy

Thank you very much! Sorry about wrong word :P I definately need to invest in the killing spree glyph I just got killing spree point the day before and have not gone back to AH to get it, I also did not realize that my expose armor was useless with a warrior tank, thank you again! What about envenom? j/c

your welcome
as far as envenom goes, i would suggest against it, since you dont have the right talents for it to be more effective than eviscerate/rupture
at your level, you dont have to worry about gems, since you will be changing gear constantly and because there are limited pieces with gem slots.
for any case of gear, just remember to prioritize expertise and hit rating, both of which should be easy to soft cap with the combat spec

If you want a PvE spec, then Dual Wield Specialization is a must for any classic or hybrid spec.

Ive got a 23 Rogue, but Im looking ahead.
44/27/00
. Im a PvPer and I was thinking rotation for 1v1 with opener. Bare in mind this is at 80. Deadly MH and WP OH Ambush (60)>Shiv(20)>KS(25)> CB/Mut Macro>SnD or Rupture.
Crowd fights. Blade Flurry>Ambush(60)>CB/Mut(55 glyphed)>Evis(35).
Im a young Rogue, but open to ideas for improvement
