MoP Tank Pets

So, I decided to get started on my Hunter again and was wondering what your collective opinions was on which MoP pets make the best tank pet (yes, I already know about pet specs). I'm looking for something that (hopefully) won't die quick while tanking a small mob (between 1 to 3 enemies), as I noticed some solo mobs tend to attract one or two more (as I've experienced anyway). Would love your input! Thank you!

The only pet that has specific benefit as tanking pet is the turtle. The rest of the pets all get the same benefits, but without the shell spell.
Remember Glifo Calcinado for pet tanking.

If you're fighting at-level mobs you should have zero issue with pet or you dying. There will be a small but noticeable threshold as you go into new expansions (i.e. Outland at 58, Northrend at 68, Hyjal/waterworld at 78(?), Pandaland at 85). But then you quickly get quest rewards that increase your stamina and attack so much that you'll be cruising.

Personally i used a cat until level 76, then tamed a spirit beast (which can heal itself and/or me/group mates).

edit: If you mean really, REALLY tank, then yeah, look at the beetle or turtle. but in all honestly, you won't need it.
