There use to be an addon that would make a Warlock's Imp not say anything when summoned. Is this addon still around or is it not possible to do this anymore?

Couldn't you just delete the imp sound files, if you can figure out which ones they are?
(Or better yet, replace them with some boss ones - sure, you're the only one who'll hear the difference)

That will change the md5 hash of the mpq files, which will trigger warden, which could get his account baned.

I also laughed a lot at the topic title :D I can just picture a person at their computer yelling STFU at the screen after continuous summons. Hehe... I guess small things amuse small minds heh Duddles?
I'm sorry I don't know the addon you are talking about but either way I wouldn't reccomend changing game files as Wanderingfox pointed out it will get you banned. Don't resort to it no matter how intense the Imp gets!

I don't think sounds can be changed out anymore. I think the game will only load certain "override files" now.I don't know about anything else, but you can still override sounds.

The OP just needs to figure out which files are the imp sound files, and where they're located within the MPQ directory tree, recreate those directories in the Interface folder, and then name some silent MP3 files with the names of the imp sounds and put them there. That should override them, and since it doesn't modify the MPQs or other program files it's perfectly within the rules.

I don't think sounds can be changed out anymore. I think the game will only load certain "override files" now. You could try the following which might prevent the sound from triggering (by turning off the sound engine when the sound would trigger):
/cast Summon Imp
/in 9 /console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/in 11 /console Sound_EnableSFX 1
Which will disable your sound for a two second period at about the time your Imp should be summoned. That's probably the best you'll get.
On another note, there's now an option in the sound options menu to disable pet sounds. It doesn't work for summoning sounds, but works for random sounds and aggro sounds.
NOTE: /in is not a default macro command. It come from another addon.
